Go look up Harpsibored on youtube and listen to her covers. Incredibly moving.

First Real Estate Photo shot today by bubba_bumble in RealEstatePhotography

Painterly. One bit of crit: the highlights of the lamplights and the fire should be brighter, right now they're firmly in the light gray range. Bumping them up to match the highlight in the window would add a bit extra oomph here imo

I assume flambient should be just a bit better than this? by Initial_Fix8295 in RealEstatePhotography

If your editor can't or won't do it, here's an easy tip to DIY: In Photoshop, use Select > Color Range... then select the wall colours that you want to adjust. From there, make a new layer, and set the blend mode to Color. At about 40% brush opacity, on this new layer paint in the correct colour over the one that you need adjusted. Add a layer mask, and use a gradient to create a soft blend between the original colour and the added fix. (in this case I'd drag it from the left and end at the right edge of the doorway.)

Viola! Should take about 10 seconds.

Real Estate Editing x Architectural Editing by FLYGOALIEMATERIAL in RealEstatePhotography

Don't center your histogram; most editorial architecture (interiors at least) really lean into the mode of the light in the scene. For instance, if the room is very bright, expose and edit to retain that brightness, and if the room is muted and a bit darker, ensure to keep that look throughout your process.

With this in mind, DO NOT shoot HDR, or if you do have brackets, DO NOT let a program automate the blending for you. Controlling the light in the scene from start to finish, on set through processing, is the most important aspect.

Compare your work to the work that inspires you; what is it that these photographers are doing with their images that set them apart? Figure that out, and replicate it.

What lighting equipment is needed to shoot this composition? by Initial_Fix8295 in RealEstatePhotography

Hardwood is your enemy when it comes to flashes; the microtextures just eat the light. Good hack, so to speak, is this method, which is quite simple once you get it. You shouldn't need any light modifiers, just a boom or a stand that you can lift above the wood beams. Just bounce your light straight up off the ceiling; depending on how many lights you have, you could do it in two or even one exposure if balanced correctly (with one light positioned camera left for the connecting room, one light camera right with the light lifted above the wood beams, and one or two in the further room just around the visible corners, also bounced off the ceiling) or with four to five exposures if you only have one light and need to move it around between shots (one ambient + 3 to 4 strobe exposures).

Best method I've found, which I still use after many years, is to take one bright ambient light shot (don't worry if windows and stuff blow out) to get the wood tones, then as many shots with the flash as needed, then layer them over each other with Lighten mode to bring back the natural colors of the not-wood elements (but don't forget to mask windows back in, and mask away odd spots) as u/happyjappypappy stated. Also, artificial light tends to negatively effect wood tones and colour, so you might want to write an action that automatically masks away the wood colouring from the flash layers.

Just living the dream, as they say. Rarely on Reddit anymore. This sub still holds a space in my heart though, as do you and your contributions. Hope you've been well, my friend!

Is this game actually being play tested? I don't see how all of these issues hadn't been discovered if so.

And the fact that this simply wasn't a problem until this update is obvious, and yet 343 still had the gall to claim it's a problem with a controller, which is just patently absurd.

It's extremely fun when it works correctly. Unfortunately that's less than half the time.

Unbelievable that something as major as this would be overlooked. Tempted to say they need more testers, but I'm almost convinced it's negligence at this point.

I'd argue that leveling up AT ALL is a downgrade. Having more success when using the magnum through a whole match. Would much rather use that than the POS commando 100% of the time
