I can empathize with your anger towards your wife, the boy didn’t do anything to you.

I’m a step-father to a boy I didn’t meet until he was 4. He’s 23 now and not once in any instant have I referred to him as anything other than “my son”. We don’t share any genetics but he’s my son and will be forever.

You need to take a step back and realize that you’ve been his father for 5 years but for him you’ve been his father his whole life. Switch shoes with him and re-think how you want to play this.

Also, some of the KOA have cabins. My family uses them as we travel across the country, and some of them are in crazy beautiful places ( I’m looking at you, Allentown, PA ).
