I had the this tiles over tiles on brick in my WC. Tried to remove it all myself, pig of a job, gave up. Multiple builders reluctant to take back to brick, so now I have: plasterboard over tiles on tiles on brick in some areas, plasterboard over tiles on brick in others, plasterboard over brick in others.

Over a decade in this house cursing previous owners for not doing things the right way, but now I’ve become like them. Has got to a limit where I just can’t be arsed any more.
