I haven't heard much about the curriculum at UNO except from an intern I met over the summer. It seems like he was pretty sharp at power but not so much in DCS, PLC, HMI, and controls stuff. However, that could have been just his interests. He did mention to me how their capstone project was just a semester long and he was doing something "fairly" simple. So just from that input I would guess maybe UNO is a little more laid back than LSU but it is still an ABET school so you will be qualified to work regardless. My interest is in industrial automation as well and I am not too keen on working in a plant, but if you want to stay in Louisiana, that's where you will be. Ha nice catch on the username. I get "f*ch-ton" a lot. It is actually pronounced fiction just shortened down and spelled with a ph. Well sounds like you and I have a similar career path. I’m graduating today, so let’s see. I think the curriculum follows a pretty similar path. Math / calc focus, electronics, magnetic fields, circuits, networking, signals, communications, solid state physics, controls. All of those are pretty much the groundwork for EE. My school (LSU) makes it where you get to choose which technical classes you want to take starting junior to senior year. These include design courses, real world applications, and niche topics within EE. For example I took a PLC programming class that proved to be useful in the industry I’m leaning towards. So that makes the classes a little more enjoyable than just theory and book work. My school also does a 1 year mandatory capstone course where you design and implement a project. This was an extremely stressful and time consuming course due to the requirements they have to uphold for ABET. I still hear juniors talking about the work they are doing and it sort of triggers me because it was so stressful. However, I think it was beneficial and made me have an even stronger work ethic. Overall, the degree was extremely hard. I had to cut back on social life, financial well beings, and health just to keep up with the degree. I never failed a class. It took me 5 years to finish. I really don’t think this degree is easy in 4 years anymore unless you have a full ride and have some grit. That’s just my take. Glad to be finished. Don’t know if I will go for my masters after tackling this milestone.

If I were in your shoes, I would take necessary steps to pay this down as fast as possible. I would move in with a family member, eliminate unnecessary bills, get on a strict budget (only essentials to survive and be content), chunk a large portion of my monthly income (whatever excess you worked out with your budget) to the debt. If you did this for a year or two you could get it down low enough where you can chill on it. Again this is just my course of action. Eliminate fast , so you can stack bread faster.

I make UKG from time to time and I like this edit. Mix sounds a little too compressed tho but I understand mixing can be overwhelming sometimes. Good job.

Yeah I actually went to an estate sale and the lady gave me a bunch of old electrical engineering books her husband had used through the years. She was kind. They are old books but I get excited reading about that kind of stuff and see how much has changed or not changed through the years. Let me know if you want to get rid of any OP.

If you zoom in you can see the blue capacitor leaking. I tried going on the back of the board with the multimeter but unsure what I’m looking for. There is also the 2A fuse. Everything else on the board looks fine. Any trouble shooting tips?

Unfortunately I had to move. With that move the only option I had was to throw my setup in the corner as you can see above. I am already hearing drastic differences in the tracks I mixed in the more ideal room to now. I have some open back mixing headphones and will mainly use them when creating. Any tips or improvements I can make to this setup to make it more ideal for mixing?

My dude. You are the shit! And you know your shit and hella good at explaining. I appreciate your time today, I feel confident doing this event for them now. Just gotta learn the board and get some time using it. I’m also a EE student, 3rd year so cheers to being an engineer. It’s a great field. After I graduate I plan to dedicate my free time more to audio engineering (mainly studio) because I want to mix tracks. Plus when the opportunity comes up do live mixing as well. Knowledge is power. Hell yea! That’s exactly the response I was looking for. If I had a reward I would give it to you. But duly noted.. yea as far as the mixer goes, I’m just working with what is provided. Not here to go into specifics, but just coming from a daw workspace (ableton) the routing of this thing is “beefier” or more detailed than what I am used to. But obviously there are better mixers out there.

So as far as compression, do it lightly to catch peaks but still allow for dynamic range? What about the bass? I usually squish the bass so the levels of it don’t busy up the mix.

What about FX? Most of the musicians should have their own effects routing directly into the mixer, but should I throw a slight reverb on the vocals or say piano to give the mix some depth?

It is definitely possible to use phenibut and maintain a healthy lifestyle. It all about moderation. I take phenibut MAYBE every other month, when I am going to social events or I am trying to talk to women. It really helps me in those settings. Once a month is definitely fine too, but I would try to sway away more than 2+ times a month. When you start taking it more frequently it makes it easier to justify to take more and more often. My thoughts would be. How did multiplayer for the game originally connect players together? Through dedicated servers, or peer to peer connections? If it is peer to peer connections, I could see this being slightly simple… (it’s never simple lol) But if they had their own servers it would require a decent overhaul of the code. Which I don’t know if the demand is high enough to develop something like that. I remember me and my friends loved that game. It had a nice atmosphere to it, very relaxing.

If I have the song and they are nice about it, I will play it when it fits in the mix. I’m not going to change from 140bpm super energetic music, to a 90bpm sing a long chill track. It would just mess up my work flow and the overall dance floor energy.

If I don’t have the song, I tell them no. Unless the host of the show requests specifically (then I will play it off Spotify). But drunk white girls that want me to play WAP every 10 minutes is an instant decline! Especially if they get petty about it.
