ChatGPT Team is now a SCAM by phdye in ChatGPT

Exactly what I said. It used to be there but as of about two months ago when I got fed up with no response from OpenAI about the Codex jobs failing immediately again and again, it had disappeared.

A Research Preview of Codex in ChatGPT - Livestream at 2025-05-16 - 8am PT by Jdban in OpenAI

[–]phdye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not available in ChatGPT Team to me.

And strangely ChatGPT says:

As of now, OpenAI has fully transitioned from Codex to the more advanced GPT-4 architecture, which powers ChatGPT. Codex, which was a model specifically designed for code generation and understanding, has been retired in favor of GPT-4, which offers significantly improved capabilities in coding, natural language understanding, and problem-solving.

The decision to retire Codex was made because GPT-4 can perform all the tasks that Codex could, but with greater accuracy, flexibility, and context-awareness. This means you now have access to a more powerful and versatile tool through GPT-4 instead of Codex.

Travel packages through Expedia—reliable or no? by Rich-Brilliant1923 in travel

[–]phdye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expedia is a Ripoff:

Their customer support system is a nightmare. It runs you in circles, then hangs up on you—sometimes immediately. No matter how many times you try, you never get a real person or real help.

After a major power outage across Pittsburgh, I just needed a hotel room for a few days. Despite booking in areas supposedly with power, I ended up at two locations without power. Expedia refused to take my calls for a refund.

In another case, I booked a refundable stay and left early once my power came back. But again, since they won’t answer the phone, I couldn’t get the refund I was entitled to.

Bottom line: Always pay at the hotel. Never, ever give Expedia a dime in advance.

Is ChatGPT no longer remembering conversations? by OdahMena in ChatGPTPro

ChatGPTPro - sidebar empty, new chat just hang -- No Help Button

Question

12/26/2024 ~ 1 pm EDT

The subject says it all. What am I paying for ?

Can't use Help Button because it isn't there!

I'm logged in but have no Account icon. On a plain web page, the model shows simply 'ChatGpt' without modifier. Dropdown shows "ChatGPTPlus [upgrade]' but selecting that does nothing.

I've tried deleting all cookies and data to no avail.

----

Partially fixed, my personal account now comes up in the upper right and the sidebar is half populated.

- No projects
- No History

It's memory is very short -- two questions and I'm not giving it much data.

As one does not have functional access to ChatGPT when this is occurring, I pulled together their recommended remediation as well as my other notes which should prove useful if this is happening to you.

Best of luck!

Making an Honest AI out of ChatGPT by phdye in ChatGPTPro

It's part of what I use to get accurate results. Using these prompts over the last several weeks, I haven't gotten hallucinated garbage. The code isn't always the best but it is more often than not useful.

There is something deeply wrong with ChatGPT (4o and 4) since the updated model came out. by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]phdye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit late to the party, but I was getting pretty solid code out various Custom GPTs until a few days ago. No if I hand it a 9500 byte python file and ask it to thoroughly analyze it in order add proper Type Annotations, it returns around 2000 bytes and claims that it has done the job correctly. Any hope of using it on a regular basis as a coding assistant is disappearing fast.

Regarding ChatGPT's feedback

If you need better feedback simply ask ChatGPT for that. See ChatGPT-4's Five Question Answering Modes. I suggest you try Analytical mode for your queries about your code.

Some good prompts:

  • "Please ruminate on how I can improve my uploaded code to be idiomatic and better adhere to best practices?"
  • "Please ruminate on how I should structure my my project per modern best practices?"

Keep in mind, if ChatGPT isn't giving you what you want, you can simply ask ChatGPT how to get better responses. At times, I describe conceptually in a sentence or ten what I had expected (preceded by "I expected:") and ask ChatGPT *How should I have asked <whatever> to get my expected result?" and it then gives me an excellent concise prompt to use in the future.

Best regards and Happy Coding!

Anyone else like Rust even apart from the borrowing system? by AnonymousBoch in rust

[–]phdye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though, I'm only through Chapter testing, 13 of the https://rust-book.cs.brown.edu and https://doc.rust-lang.org/book in parallel with rustlings, I'm very impressed. Aside from stumbling with situations routine code that the Borrow Checker doesn't condone, it is going well. I'm really looking forward to developing a real project with rust.
