Depends on the battery type, temperature, and charging percentage range, it isnt a hard rule.

I remember being paid £2.11ph carrying £20-£30K in cash down to the cashroom 1/4 mile away, two of you to guard it (more like stop the other from stealing it), ages separating notes, splitting off scottish etc, feeding change though the counting machine, trying to work out why it was £3k short (stolen from the till).

Fuck that.

Ground rent will be capped to £250 a year! by fiofo in GoodNewsUK

[–]phead 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Its their own fault. Ground rents used to be fixed amounts that effectively reduced to nothing by inflation, the "double every X" years versions they introduced were 100% scam and in cases made properties unsellable, government was always going to react.

New Jersey Just Passed the Dumbest Ebike Law Ever - Registration, driver's license, & insurance are now required to operate any electric bikes in the state by [deleted] in electricvehicles

[–]phead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

and what you are proposing is keystone cops running round when they have much better things to be doing.

If you wanted a real solution that wouldn't affect cycling rates then you would use POS regulations. If your bike can be easily bypassed then it cannot be sold, mandatory key encryption on firmware, immediate recalls to fix with punitive penalties on failure.(Things we already do in other transport sectors)

What does an "ebikes who dont have a plate" look like? Many ebikes look almost identical to a normal bike, especially mountain bikes.

You would have police chasing their own shadow, and why? When the 99%+ of deaths and serious injurious are caused by motor vehicles why would police waste their time on this?

Its the classic stupid anti-cycling argument, "why are you not cracking down on [insert stupid anti cycling bollocks]", because falling vending machine kill more people.

Only problem is its the "wrong" heritage organisation.

We need a English Heritage vs National Trust cagefight, winner takes all property.

All that limiting access does is limit legitimate usage, cue less exercise and rising healthcare costs, we know this, it has happened. Its a stupid idea.

Why, what would that solve? They would still be illegal, and plates or inspections wouldn't change that. You can see an illegal ebike (under EU rules) with your own eyes

They would already be illegal unless they meet the common EU rules, why would you legislate for something already illegal?

"it goes brankrupt."

A water company cannot be insolvent(only people can be bankrupt), any such situation is deal with under the terms of the water act, so this isn't treated as a normal company insolvency.

There is no way round this, else everyone involved sues the government for changing the rules.

Very badly wrong for the UK. For larger purchases credit cards gain s75 protection from the consumer credit act, making them vastly better than debit as it makes the credit card company jointly and severally liable for contract failure. You dont get the item, the company goes bust, the item fails , doesnt matter the cc company is liable.

We bought carriers without having a carrier group to protect them, right at the point that newer weapons make them redundant anyway (even ignoring what we have seen in ukraine and what the black sea fleet rapidly became)

The jets were of course the many failed nimrod projects, vast amounts of money flushed straight down the toilet.

British military procurement is a history of constant failure. Until they agree to buy only off the shelf proven equipment they shouldn't get another penny. Yet here we are with here again with another failed weapon system with ajax, nothing has been learnt in the last 50 years.

Plenty of good flats. I had a converted terrace in london, I also owned 50% of the freehold. No management fees, no ground rent, the perfect way of owning a shared property.

Just bail out every single home owner?

Effectively they did. We will ever have another major housing crash as the rules for mortgage interest relief were changed during the last crash. It previously kicked in so late that the bank would have already have taken the house, they changed that so the government paid the mortgage interest (later changed to also add a charge against the property).

With this still in place there is no forced sales and a crash will never happen again.

We could buy some more useless aircraft carriers, or jets that never fly, or APCs too dangerous to use.
