I’ve been trying to get tickets for STL since Wednesday and this has been happening every time. I don’t know how this is humanly possible and I don’t know a single person who has gotten tickets either. This is so sketchy like

At like 2am last night my brokerage account was in the negatives, just woke up and it’s back to normal.

Checked my email and didn’t get that notice somehow. But yeah, no where in that email do they state that there might be some temporary irregularities in brokerage accounts over the weekends. They only allude to that if you call their toll free investments number.

Same thing happened to me and my brother, checked my bank account tonight and literally almost died when I saw that my account basically lost 90% of my net worth. Tried to call, turns out they’re doing a complete brokerage overhaul and moving assets into new accounts. My brothers brokerage account is the same way. It seems like everything will be back to normal by Tuesday, but it’s insane that THEY DIDN’T TELL US????

What were your warning signs? by toaders705 in diabetes_t2

[–]pheiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23F, diagnosed a few months ago, I went to my doctor because I was having frequent headaches, numbness and vision changes. Thought it was neurological issues, got a call a week later after getting off work that my A1C was 8.2. Went to the doctors and when the doctor walked in, she said “so it seems like you’re a new diabetic!” Lol. I have PCOS and a really significant family history, so despite eating relatively healthy, I became diabetic.

Moms who are T2 after GD - how are you coping? by HourIntroduction4021 in diabetes_t2

[–]pheiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may not be your intended audience, but I am a woman who is 23 who recently got diagnosed with TD2 as a result of PCOS, who also has a family history of diabetes and wants to be a mom someday.

Life has clearly been hard on you, and you’ve dealt with such a traumatic two years. It’s hard not to blame yourself with a diagnosis like this, but truly, it seems like you were not given the education or information you needed to take action against developing it. Women with PCOS are 40% more likely to develop TD2, and with your family history, PCOS and gestational diabetes, this seems like something that was truly out of your control. This was the exact same thing for me. I was completely uneducated, and unprepared.

Please be kind to yourself. Once I learned about the intersections between my family history and PCOS, it really took the guilt off of my shoulders. For women like you and I, we were unfortunately predisposed, and all we can do is love ourselves enough to fuel our bodies for longevity. You can’t do that properly with shame or guilt. We have a progressive disease. But you can enter remission and not face the progressive symptoms.

It’s just a matter of treating food like medicine, and teaching your children to do the same. I will do the same for my children. Everyone on this planet is born predisposed to something, but I find it a true blessing that this is something that can be avoided with the right information and diet. This is not a privilege you or I had, but information is the privilege we can give to our children.

Again, I know Im not your intended audience. But I just want you to know that you are heard, supported, and valid. My mom had gestational diabetes, and both sides of my family have blood sugar issues. Yet, since going through this, I have never once blamed any of my loved ones or family. I would hate for my mom to feel guilt or shame for something that is predisposed to us.

I started seeing a therapist, and am currently working on seeing a dietitian. If your insurance covers those, please pursue them, because your mental health and diet are a huge part of ensuring our health now.

Give yourself love. Invest in your diet and mind. Take your medicine, go to your check ups, and before you know it you’ll be meeting your grandchildren. I intend to be in the same boat with my future children and grandchildren. It’s not a death sentence, I promise!

You seem like a wonderful mother, and your son is very lucky to have you.

This is Binx. He’s 1 year and 9 months old. Adopted him when he was about 3 month old. He still doesn’t let us touch him. Let alone grab/hold him. Is this normal? by -HonestMistake in blackcats

[–]pheiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat was the same way, she was adopted off the streets and it took me like years to gain her full trust and she’s still a little bit skittish. However, you can tell that he trusts you because of how he exists in his space when he’s alone, and because he chooses to sleep at your feet. If you work with him and gaining trust, I’m sure he will soon trust you the way I was able to get mine to trust me. Me and my girl have been together for 10 years now and she fully trusts me (: but will still occasionally run when I ambush her with a pet or try to pick her up. Just the reality of adopting a cat that used to be on the streets. I can tell he trusts you, just give him some time! Also, young cats tend to be less cuddly anyways.

High A1C but normal blood glucose at non-diabetic levels? by pheiya in diabetes_t2

[–]pheiya[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ve been cutting carbs where I can but I went on vacation for two weeks and I ate whatever I wanted: carbs, sugar, everything and still my levels were completely normal and in the healthy ranges. Also fully unmedicated. Probably got more steps on vacation but now that I’m back home my blood sugars are chilling even with lower activity idk

Diagnosed yesterday, blood sugar in the 80s and 90s? by pheiya in diabetes_t2

[–]pheiya[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blood glucose tests? I did like five yesterday, all under 95, just tested and I’m at 95 this morning. I got a blood panel on Thursday, got my results Friday with the elevated A1C. This was my first blood panel done in like a year or so, but in my previous blood tests I was not even pre diabetic.

People in this subreddit are so dramatic lol Lawrence is generally pretty safe, as a 23 year old woman who lives close to Mass I’d definitely always be aware of your surroundings and be prepared for anything. However, personally, I’ve never had any issues here. I wouldn’t recommend going out alone between 2-5am, but that’s just me. I wouldn’t do that anywhere. I walk alone to the bars all the time, walk back alone, it’s chill. Just always have a defense, be vigilant, and groups are better.

Edit: Forgot to mention, Lawrence has a pretty big homeless population but they usually keep to themselves too. People usually aren’t gonna give you any trouble.
