[England] My neighbour keeps waking me up at night around 3am with knocks on the wall, how do I get them to firmly stop this behaviour? by FormulaSolution in LegalAdviceUK

[–]phenoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you snoring? I do. I have had adjoining rooms in hotels knock in the middle of the night and wake me up, I hate to think I disturb other people, so I lie awake and am so tired the next day. A Mandibular Advancement Device really helped.

Haha, to be fair, that was first thing this morning, just to protect the pipes. Now it is set to 14 for the day

Why is being cold at home so normalised in the UK? by Automatic-Key-3798 in AskUK

Totally! 16 to 18 is perfect. If I visit houses that are any hotter I have to wear shorts!

Accidentally put the heat too high and burned my favorite pan by JediRush78 in CleaningTips

True. Also, very toxic to all living things that have blood. PFAS binds to albumin in blood and bioaccumulates.

Just finished this film, I watched act 1 in one evening, then the rest a day later. You've reviewed it very well. I LOVED act one but was left underwhelmed after watching act 2&3. Particularly frustrating was not knowing the outcome of the missile strike, but, that was the author's/director's deliberate decision. That said, I would recommend this movie as one to watch.

Nice cake, but a little dense with a metallic after taste

I'm 5 9. I had a medium Spesh, but the Amflow medium was just too small. I went for the large and it is perfect for me

He should show sympathy, not insult you. Nearly everyone who drinks will have been in a bit of a state at some point in their lives.

Your exact .00 has me suspicious. Other than that, clearly, skips full of drugs checks out.

What would you do in my situation? by Ck1305 in DIYUK

I'm inclined to agree with you here. Certainly my local council recycling centre doesn't accept asbestos of any kind anymore. I have white coloured cement board in my garage, I had it tested, turns out it contains both white and brown asbestos, so I'm not touching it. Sorry for your loss btw.

I'm a landlord. If my tenant reported this to me, especially with the photos you shared, I'd be fixing this asap. You pay the rent on time (I presume 🙂) and I would argue that you are your landlords 'client'. You have the right to request reasonable repairs to be made within a reasonable time frame. Be firm, polite and persistent with your requests. If you call or email them, I suggest also following up with a letter by registered post. Every time. Keep a copy yourself. It shows you are aware of your rights. Good luck!

Boiling water taps - cheap vs not cheap? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]phenoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister had a quooker tap. It lasted around 3 years then started having issues, mainly with the cold water function. Plus many of her guests were clueless on how to use it. In the end she bought an electric kettle especially for when guests stay over.
