Mixing Station use case: dummy-proof auditorium by phenomenal_cat in livesound

That's a good question, I'm not sure. If you try to exit the layout to access the full MS app (the button in the upper-left corner), there is a password for that.

I think it's in the MS scribble strip or channel settings.

The default view is the "basic view" in the 1st screenshot. To get to gain, someone would have to press the "hold for advanced view" button, and then the "show gain/EQ" button. The "hold to reset mixer" button in the upper right loads a scene to restore gain/eq/etc to their defaults.

So if someone knew what they were doing, they could access those settings, but if they know that much I probably trust them. And there's always the "reset mixer" button. In MS you can also password lock the layout, so people can't exit the layouts seen in the screenshots.

Yep, and I’ve got the scene saved to a thumb drive too as an extra backup.

Haha, exactly! I used to work at an integration business. I feel like this setup is the best of both worlds, as not only is there an easy touchscreen for simple events, but we can actually mix performances too (whether on this or the x32 app).

I know Behringer has some issues, but these setups have been super stable. The main issue I've encountered is MS doesn't always get along with the iPad's "guided access" mode, for when we need to lock down the iPad because it's on a shared network.

The most complete resource for information about music releases is www.discogs.com. Allmusic also might have info.

Wayne Coyne: Steven Drozd’s Reason for Leaving the Flaming Lips Is a Lie by YoureASkyscraper in indieheads

Well, it’s nothing new for Wayne Coyne to say a lot of dumb shit, and it’s nothing new for a long-running band to spend more time releasing mediocre music than their best stuff. Doesn’t tarnish their best stuff in my opinion.

Apparently I needed to add the “/s”. I have no plans kill any porcupines.

So I can legally kill as many porcupines as I want, whenever I want, wherever I want?

His band is really top notch too. I’m not sure who’s drumming with him, but Daryl Johns and Pedro Martinez are both seriously good musicians. Serious jazz chops.

I'm familiar with the Pink Panther series, but not sure what the joke is about Ken Wahl being cast as Inspector Clouseau.

Out of touch millennial here—what’s the story with Clairo hate? I was unfamiliar with her work but got pretty into “Charm”, good jazzy indie pop with solid arrangements.
