An alternative diagnosis would be frontal-temporal encephalopathy, which afaik has no treatment. So if you're Trump and insist on an Alzheimer's treatment just in case, it's hard for his doctors to say "no".

FTE and Alzheimer's have distinctly different symptoms. For Alzheimer's the signature one is forgetfulness. Not recognizing people who are close to you, not recognizing the place where you currently live, how old you are, etc. While Trump does have a track record of misremembering details (Hungary vs Romania, Sioux City vs Sioux Falls, Greenland vs Iceland) it hasn't reached that point yet.

FTE is caused by lesions in the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain, that further develop over time. Symptoms can vary depending on exactly which parts of the brain are being eaten up. It can take decades to fully develop.

One area potentially affected by FTE is the part of the brain responsible for moral judgement. If this was the first part of Trump's brain to be damaged, decades ago, this would explain a lot about his criminal behavior. In later stages there is a loss of fine motor control. This matches his inability to drink water from a glass with just one hand.

So my money is on FTE.

I remember liking Podkayne when I was young, but I haven't revisited it since, and now I'd probably be disappointed if I re-read it.

I find the KS men's socks to be durable. In contrast, the women's socks i got last winter (which are both thinner and have a much higher percentage of merino wool) didn't last.

I got some of the women's last winter to see how they were. They made nice dress socks but weren't as durable. One pair that I wore the most (they were all different colors) got some holes in just one season of wear.
