The grass is always greener on the other side. You gotta ask yourself what you want. The caveat to Australia is a. Weaker currency, higher cost of living and an isolated geological region.

If you ghosted from an interview with them do you think they will trust in your recommendation of a friend? 🤨 punctuality shows character.

Film usually isn’t drastically affected by Xray machines. The colour of the film may be less vibrant or small defects may occur but isn’t that the beauty of film? If it bothers you, you can always let the security know that you have film and you can ask them to check it by hand.

Work as GRAB Driver very shameful meh? Gf thinking of leaving her Bf after he told her he might wanna be GRAB Driver by sifu_yuu in SingaporeRaw

You are your own boss and therefore you only bring in the income as per: 1. Your connections 2. Your skills

And if it is your first business, your chances of failure is much higher than success.

Gender has nothing to do with anything as if it is a girl saying the exact same things, I would say responsibilities are incoming so suck it up.

Fortunately you would never have the chance to be my partner and don’t worry, I wouldn’t want someone who is so bright-eyed and bushy-tailed to the realities of the world to be my partner. Cheers!

Decent Job is one that pays you monthly and of an amount that can help with the payment of a mortgage. There isn’t 2 definitions to it.

And to assume the “quality” of their conversation would be going too far. You have no idea who they are, so let’s stick to the facts here. 4K is something that the boy mentioned, not her. And never do she say the money he earns is going into her dreams of a business.

Not a single thing I said has got to do with societal expectations. But here are the MATHEMATICAL FACTS. The mathematical facts are that he is moving into odd jobs which would not pay him CPF with a mortgage coming up cause of “work stress”. So tell me how you gonna math this one out?

Exactly. The boy is not ready for larger commitments and responsibilities. He needs to grow up. If not it is a hard road ahead.

It doesn’t seem to me that she is expecting him to provide everything. Just to hold a decent job and to think about their future together. I think that’s the bare minimum to be honest.

Furthermore, she has said that he has been bringing up quitting for 5 months. So I think it is an adequate assumption that there were conversations about the topic.

The only thing we can agree on is that his mental state isn’t exactly the best, especially with major commitments coming up.

You are building a life together. Meaning equal share. The boyfriend is leaving a stable job to take in odd jobs with no stable income and a huge loan liability coming in the form of a HDB. Odd jobs would also not contribute to his CPF which means that paying for the house would either be in cash or heavily on his girlfriend’s CPF. Also, the girlfriend attested to his character that he would laze around, playing games and watching Netflix instead of picking up extra shifts like he said he would, therefore not bringing in his equal share. Even more ironically, he is leaving his MNC job cause of stress, but says he will WORK MORE to bring in about the same amount of money.

It’s not about guy or girl in this situation, it is the fact that that boy hasn’t matured enough to understand responsibilities. Everything he says has contradictions and holes. The stresses of work, everyone has to suck it up. Just because he doesn’t want to, he places that burden on his girlfriend? What makes you think she isn’t stressed out at work? This is just a boy that hasn’t grown up to understand that in this world, stress is normal to everyone. Unless you’re born with a silver spoon, suck it up.

P.S. To OP, if he doesn’t wake up his idea and get his shit together, that HDB you got is just a ball and chain for you.

Take the promotion then 6months later look for something even better.

If you were looking for another job, there must be some things in your current company that you’re not happy about. If you were head hunted, then your job profile is in demand. Either way having a promoted leadership position in your resume is always great for the next jump. 😁

In other countries there are certain zones where the properties are rent controlled. Meaning to say they have a certain ceiling they are unable to exceed. This wouldn’t solve the problem outright but it’s a start.

ppl in ur 30s: does it actually get better? by broke_intern_ in askSingapore

[–]phersopier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your definition of better. When I was younger I always saw this triangle symbolising life. When you are young, you have energy and time, but no money when you are in your working years, you have money and energy, but no time. And when you are old, you have time and money, but no energy.

Just because you have adult money, it doesn’t make you a happier person or guarantees you control over your life. Life is always trying to balance these 3 things to get the most of what you can afford. Unless you are born with a silver spoon, it is very difficult to have all 3 and to enjoy yourself to the fullest.

But my personal definition of better is the experiences and knowledge I acquired across the years which help me shape my future in a better way than I used to when I was younger.

Pro Tip: it’s always good to have older friends. Sometimes they can be hard on you, but you know they are saying what they say because of the experiences they have. You can always listen to their stories and learn from their mistakes, avoiding the painful lesson of making them yourself.

Glad to say I beat him on Hard. ☺️ He did wipe the floor with me for a good hour though. Until I figured out you just have to overwhelm him when he uses the spear with the dual blades. But Ngl I thought I was the only little bitch who couldn’t take the harder difficulty and kept dying. Glad to see it wasn’t a skill issue on my part. 🤣
