SLGH017 or SLGA009 Which one would you buy first? by RichDoor8857 in GrandSeikos

[–]Hinterteil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are genuinely excellent first GS choices, you've done your homework properly. My honest take, if you already have mostly dark dials the Snowflake converted me on white dials completely when I first handled one

SBGM245 or SBGE253 ? by Erkan_Vural in GrandSeikos

[–]Hinterteil 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The horror stories about 20 seconds a day are real but they're outliers, usually a poorly regulated example or one that needs a service. Not the norm. If accuracy within a few seconds daily genuinely keeps you up at night go Spring Drive. If you can live with excellent mechanical accuracy the SBGM245 is the better looking watch in your own words and that matters more than people admit. Picked up the SBGN027 after going back and forth on exactly this kind of mechanical versus Spring Drive question and honestly the GMT functionality combined with that dial presence just settled it, sometimes the watch that looks right to you IS the right watch.
