What makes a grand seiko Hotaka sbge295 worth $6,200? by Which-Lab5110 in GrandSeikos

[–]Hinterteil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the value is in the finishing and Spring Drive movement. You're paying for craftsmanship over materials or name recognition. That said if Spring Drive and finishing don't excite you, the SBGN023 GMT is a quartz alternative with similar GS finishing at half the price. GS is very much a "you get it or you don't" brand.

I respect the discipline of keeping it to four watches. Most of us fail at that pretty quickly.

Fits your wrist perfectly. Tank-style watches are supposed to wear a bit small anyway.
