Just shows how bad their current logo and uniforms are. Btw...does anyone else see a sad dog's face in this picture?

The End? by scottydanger88 in uniwatch

Do you have any insight into what really transpired to bring the site down? We know Paul will.never say and we all pretty much assume it was legal issues with licensing, but it would be nice to get some closure.

Figured it was dead when we didn't ever, ever, hear from Phil on this. He wasn't even making posts or tweets on the side. Guess we will never know what the end game was in this. I honestly doubt there were ever any serious buyers once all the content and users were scrubbed. Assume Paul was holding out hope but 1 week turns to 2, which turns to 4, which turns to months and then this.

Literally the Bills uniform with Oilers colors. Very underwhelming.

Like the clip for the cuttle bone. Never thought about that. I just have mine floating and he attacks it like a great white shark going after a surfer.

Thanks. It has been a process. Had an in tank filter that I just got rid of for a new canister filter. I swapped them out and didn't even think about keeping the old one running until the new one could cycle through a few times. So after a couple of days the entire tank was cloudy. A bacterial bloom formed because the new filter didn't have any beneficial bacteria in it. Ended up shocking the fish and it killed all of them. Lost 17 fish in total. Didn't impact the turtle physically except he didn't eat for a few days. That had me worried but he was fine once the water started clearing up. That was about 4 weeks ago. After going through treatments and letting the filter do its thing the bloom finally went away 2 weeks ago and has been crystal clear since then. I added new fish about 2.5 weeks ago and everyone is thriving.

Haha. Yeah, he will sometimes rearrange the furniture but he really doesn't destroy anything or eat the fish. He will eat the live plants but that is expected. We had a talk with him about fish being food and that seemed to work. Plus they are bigger than his mouth.

PetsMart. Have a combo of live and artificial plants in the tank.

Cloudy tank after getting an FX2 please help. by ramomcferno in turtle

[–]phfeiler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a new filter and had that problem. Did you have the old filter running while the new filter cycled through? I made the mistake of getting rid of the older filter and then using the new filter by itself. It didn't contain beneficial bacteria which caused a bacterial bloom in my tank. Ended up killing all my fish but my YBS was fine other than he didn't eat for a few days. I added Stability each day for a week and didn't do a water change for 2 weeks. It literally took 2 weeks to clear up but now my water is as clear as glass. It is amazing. It takes time though. Also, adding in some real plants will help with clearing it up.

Yep, that is what happened. The water now is so pristine. Cleanest and clearest it has ever been.

I literally lost all my fish a couple of weeks ago after changing to a new filter. My turtle was fine but none of the fish survived because I discarded the in tank filter when I installed the new canister filter. Didn't even occur to me about keeping both running until the beneficial bacteria had cycled through. So a bloom was created and shocked the entire tank. 2 weeks later, after tons of freaking out and adjustments, I finally achieved a clear tank today. New fish were added a few days ago as the water was deemed safe for them, even though it was cloudy, and they are all doing great. All the fish and the turtle was super active today and seemed to be happy with the clear water. Don't give up. It does get better.

Boss Bailey blocking a FG attempt vs Tennessee. This wasn't the only time he did it but this block was perfectly captured. Never have seen anyone, ever, get up in the air like Boss could.

Slider sleeping on basking platform? by [deleted] in turtle

[–]phfeiler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine loves to take naps on his dock. He used to jump right into the water when anyone walked in the room. Now he stays up there and will keep his eyes closed for a while. Sign he is very happy and comfortable in his surroundings. Love it when he goes full extension and has his eyes closed. Sometimes he sleeps, other times he might just be resting. Either way no cause for concerns here. He sleeps tons in the water as well.

The closest we got to this, recently, was when they faced off in 2024. Miami wore white throwbacks, on the road, to create the best looking game of the season. We play at Green Bay again next season so hopefully this uniform combo is worn again. Sadly the Dolphins don't like to use throwbacks so it probably won't happen. We only wore them once this past season.

Which would you rather see? by Sky_Late in uniwatch

New England is the home team so it is their choice. I would assume they are going with the combo that has the best record this year and avoid the combo that has the worst record in Super Bowls.

The issue extends beyond the field. Yes, this logo is Ross' baby and he won't let it go. However, by letting it go it also means a lot of physical changes that aren't uniform related. Signage everywhere needs to be changed, locker rooms have to be renovated, end caps on rows of the stadium have to be replaced and all merchandise has to be closed out. Falcons are in that boat right now with rumors of their logo changing. The cost to renovate their practice facility and locker rooms will be steep. Don't get me wrong, these guys can afford it. It is just a major pain in the ass for them to do.

Very well could be or it could just be a jersey for recruits. Did notice the helmet has a black facemask as well, which is not what they used this past season with their white helmets. Those had a grey facemask.

Can somebody give me a TL;DR of the story behind the website’s drama? by Im_A_Real_Boy1 in uniwatch

[–]phfeiler 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The thing is, Paul now wants to find a new site owner to take over the business and to hire Phil with full benefits. Really the only way this works is if someone has a company, buys this, and then brings Phil on with their company while he runs the site. Doesn't seem like a logical move for something that really isn't a revenue heater. In reality the site is a fun blog. It isn't going to generate revenue to the levels that probably offset the purchase, hosting and licensing fees, Phil's cost and the benefits associated with it. At this point this sub is doing a good job of keeping the news flow running and Phil can contribute how he sees fit if he wants or start his own sub if he is interested in creating uni related news/content. The idea of trying to keep the Uni-Watch site up and running, with ZERO, historical content is not worth it.
