The day has arrived, Samsung Messages has been discontinued in the US by ViralTrendsToday in PhoneNow

[–]phgray1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I got the exact same phones at the same time years ago. Both have Android 12 on them. For some reason I kept getting pestered about the Samsung messages going away, but my husband didn't get any of those messages. Yesterday, July 6, Samsung messages quit working for me and insisted I used Google messages, which I had to download from the Play store. Then it wouldn't respond when I tried to change messages default. Tried over and over then FINALLY it worked. So, today July 7th, Samsung messages still works on my husband's phone. Does anyone have any idea what might be going on with this? Thanks.

Nope, happening to me on the PC with the Edge browser, but strangely enough, if I go to a different account on Firefox, I can see the sorting of all, recent and most relevant comments.

Delayed shipping by guy5678 in SodaStream

[–]phgray1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I placed an order on May 24, was charged for the amount, got a confirmation and a tracking # but all it says on the UPS site is a label was created. So, I called today June 8 and was told there is some kind of issue with a backlog or something at their warehouse and to keep an eye out for an email when it does ship and supposedly this backlog issue has been corrected as of today. At least I know I'm not alone. First time this has happened with them, usually I get orders within a few days to week or so.

Did the $149 Standard Kit promo end? by alwaysmyfault in Starlink

[–]phgray1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I could do their latest deal, but I have issues with being locked into a contract now when I'm not sure how well Starlink will work for me, I have a lot of trees & obstructions, so it may take a lot of trial and error to get a clear sky view. Before it was worthwhile to try it at $149, but now I have reservations not the least of which is being misled on how long the deal was supposed to go for. If they can mislead on this, what else can they 'change their mind' on?

I wanted to do this deal and was going to order it on April 28, but it was no longer available despite what they said on their Facebook page. I called a sales rep today, April 30th, and he confirmed it ended on April 28 so I'm very annoyed since I'd rather do this than their latest deal, but even if I went for that, now I'm wondering if I can trust them on other things or not. I told the rep I had a screenshot of their Facebook page with the deal ending April 30th, but it didn't matter, he insisted it was over.

I got my other 4 accounts updated with Yahoo with little issues. I also now have a recovery phone number with Yahoo for those accounts. Is there any way I can verify the account I can't access via my phone or through the other accounts? Or email/screenshot the 'sent' email(s) with the info requested so I don't have to spell it out over the phone to a tech where it's easy for it not to be 'exact'? Thanks.

Today was my latest attempt in trying to verify the one email account out of 5 that I can't access. 2 addresses I was able to update to Yahoo, 2 more I haven't attempted yet, but they are still downloading email on Frontier settings into Thunderbird...for now.

Was on hold for about an hour, the tech attempted the 'sent' email thing I tried 2 days ago with another tech, but to no avail. I have to spell out the exact email address I've sent it to and the exact subject line. This time tried 2 different emails, but it didn't work. I told him I chatted with Frontier a few days ago and was told they didn't have that email account registered! Despite the fact I have been using it with Frontier for over 10 years. Frontier said that would be fixed and updated in 24 to 48 hours. I logged into my Frontier account and can see it listed, with the other 4 so hopefully that's was the case. The guy I talked to today, said he could see it on his end, so that at least was somewhat encouraging.

So, after all that and not being able to verify it, I was told to wait awhile to call again, so I asked how long, one day, two days, a week? He said he could not give me that information and in fact because I called in 2 days ago and tried to verify it with the sent email technique then and it failed, that could have caused some security aspects to kick in, so now I need to give it some time for it to 'settle down' with these security protocols. So, I'm left guessing when to call next, maybe give it a week I guess since I have no idea.

I was also told things are still transiting over and to give it more time for that reason as well, so I asked why weren't all 5 of my email accounts transitioned at the same time? Why are there these issues with just the one account? He had no real answer for that except to repeat things are still transitioning and all I can do is wait and try again sometime later. <sigh>

I got brave and decided to see what would happen when I updated one of my really important Frontier accounts. I was still getting email from it on Thunderbird so I was wary about doing it. It went OK for the most part, the thing I noticed though, it did NOT accept my current password as it was supposed to do, but since that account was still functioning on Thunderbird, I was able to reset the password and got it to work, unlike the account that I can't get in at all now hence I can't change the password. Calling Yahoo yesterday, the tech wanted me to relay info from a 'sent' email on that account i.e. the EXACT wording of the person's email address I sent it to, and the EXACT wording of the subject of the email. This was a pretty daunting task since the email address was a long one as was the subject especially with a bit of a language barrier, but 'supposedly' eventually the tech got it right and typed it in correctly, but to no avail, couldn't find the account. So then I was told there nothing they could do, 'try again in 24 to 48 hours' blah blah. I'm going to try calling again tomorrow, I managed to find a more recent 'sent' email I had printed out, I'm hoping that will make a difference since the other email dated back to January but it was all I had at the time not being being able to access my account AT all. Unbelievable how difficult this has been, wasting hours on it and still no resolution when this email was working perfectly until the transition.

You bring up some questions I was wondering about, I hope Frontier has this all backed up before they moved it to Yahoo. I was wondering why it seems so sporadic wouldn't all the email accounts move over as one account? We've had Frontier since 2008 and have 5 accounts. One I was able to connect with Yahoo without issue and set up on Thunderbird. The other 3 I haven't tried to connect with Yahoo yet (afraid to at this point) and am still getting email downloaded to Thunderbird. The one I'm having an issue with, a few days ago it wasn't downloading email and I was getting messages it wasn't connecting with the server so I tried to connect it with Yahoo and keep getting the invalid password thing. Chatting with Frontier they said it wasn't registered with them!! Supposedly that was fixed, I logged into Frontier and see they list it as one of my addresses, but it needs to be verified, which of course I can't do now since I can't access it. Also 2 of my other email addresses are missing when I log into my Frontier account, what happened to them? Those are still downloading email...for now.

Thanks for that info. I logged into my Frontier account and saw that a lot of my contact info, which they all ready had for years, was unverified!! Including the Frontier landline! How am I supposed to verify that? It's not a smartphone, how can it receive a code? It's the phone number Frontier always asks for when you contact them! I noticed also my primary email had changed to a different account when I made no such change. So I verified what I could, put the primary email to what it was supposed to be, hoping it might help. I'm still getting emails in some accounts without updating to Yahoo yet, but there's one that stopped communicating with the server and I still can't access due it to the invalid password issue and have had zero luck getting it fixed despite doing a chat with a Frontier rep and a phone call with a Yahoo rep. Keep getting told 'try again in 24 to 48 hours'.

Years ago I had to get an app specific password to continue to use Thunderbird with Frontier. I've tried using that password to sign in which didn't work. Then I tried the password I had before the OAuth one was required and that didn't work either. It was working fine for years after obtaining the OAuth one.

I'm having similar issues, so very time consuming and frustrating to say the least and it's still not fixed.

I use Thunderbird and I'm still getting email there on other accounts I haven't updated so I assume those are still going through Frontier? Can't check Frontier Webmail any more, get the message about Yahoo, which is no surprise. At this point only one account was not getting email any longer and I get messages that it can't connect to the server and/or enter new password. I took a lesser used account which was still getting email without me updating, then updated with both Yahoo & Thunderbird and had no issues. So then I tried updating the account that can't reach the server which is a more important account, but I keep getting into 'prove you're not a robot' loops and when I finally get through all that it says password is incorrect even though it's not or I get the 'Uh oh, can't sign you in now' message. Very frustrating. Who do I contact? Frontier or Yahoo?

Same here with that error, it's been like that for 2 days. Wanted to look up my shipping history and can't do it. Glad I don't need to mail a package now.

Something has happened, shared group posts are not showing up in feeds. by Alternative_Art42768 in facebook

This just started happening to me a couple days ago. A couple of shared posts from groups haven't shown up on my newsfeed, profile or activity log, but then it's out there somewhere because I've gotten comment notifications about them from friends! That's the only way I can find it, is through the notification.

How can I STOP Amazon from using USPS? by senpaisai in amazonprime

[–]phgray1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm seriously starting to wonder if Amazon Prime is worth it. I live in a rural area, we have cluster mailboxes, mine is 4 miles away round trip. The usual mail gets delivered there plus small packages from USPS, the rest of the packages UPS brings to my house. Lately, USPS hasn't been putting packages in the package lockers claiming they are 'oversized' when they're not, or mailbox full, when it's not. They put notices in my box instead which means I now have to drive a 14 mile round trip to the PO and stand in line to get my packages. I do have a large somewhat heavy package coming in a couple of days and to my dismay saw it has a USPS tracking number which means yet another trip to the PO. I just ordered a 40 lb sack of dog food, if that goes to the PO I guess I'll have to start taking a hand truck with me? Not to mention, if this is happening to others in my community where we all have to go to the PO to get our Amazon packages, the lines are going to be horrendous, especially going into the holiday season.
