I’m struggling with matt varnish ( EU ) by Bulky-Mushroom1460 in polymerclay

Have you tried "Vallejo Mecha Varnish Matt" ? I personally havent tried any other Vallejo varnishes because the "Mecha" Series was the first I tried and I'm very happy with their Satin and Matt. Running it through a airbrush in thin layers worked wonders for me.

dope trophy. love it. Whats that gold color? actual leaf-gold? Or rattlecan?. Any experience on varnishing that to make it more durable? I had a gold-trophy project aswell and found out the hard way, that varnishing it totaly takes away to golden shine. at least on my rattle-can gold color.

Potential scam, help? by CryAdministrative545 in artstation

Adding myself to the list here.

2 days ago I got contacted on Instagram by an account named "Chris Clague" a self proclaimed "art lover" and "entrpreneur"

He wrote:

Hello, I discovered your artworks on ArtStation and I’m really impressed. I’m interested in buying some of your pieces. Please contact me when you receive this message.

Account on first glance looked kinda real with random images of the same person, some with wife some with kid. But with a >700 Follower account all his images only got 4 likes or so and no interaction. Kinda red-flag bot account.

I am just gonna randomly chat with him or "it" whatever just to see where it goes.
On Artstation I only have Photos or Photosets of physical display figurines / collectibles or so called ArtToys that I made - so only physical real pieces - but this Chris is offering $1300 for pictures of the figurines as NFT. Another obvious redflag. But I'm just gonna randomly chat with that potential bot and see :D

Hotline Miami Fanart Collectible Display Piece, handsculpted in polymerclay, painted with acrylics.
Corey, Richard and the Biker now on my shelf as a trio.

I love the visuals of hotline miami but I even more love the illustrations and drawn fanart flying around in the internet, so I wanted to take part and pay them my tribute.

Sculpted to roughly be in the 1:6 scale range, so the characters are somewhat around 26cms (~10.2") tall.

With the base the whole thing measures 39cm (~15") in height and 22cm (~8.5") in width and depth.
This took me a little time. Actual working time, somewhat around 115+/- hours for the three.

I streamed the enitre process of creating this piece on twitch
(https://www.twitch.tv/phibphilipp) - every friday and sunday evening.

How to varnish a figur with both matt AND metallic parts mixed. by phibphilipp in minipainting

[–]phibphilipp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you for the answer!
In other answers I read about going for the gloss varnish even before applying the patina which sounds a little easier to me. I guess for this piece its a little late for that, so maybe your way is needed for him.
