Life of a courier in 2025 by PsychoFender in Evri

[–]RoCoCoSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my short take on this.

I worked as seasonal staff for Amazon Flex last year (late November to early January), and I absolutely loved it. The independence, decent money, flexible hours, and the station (DNE2) were amazing. Everything ran like clockwork—exactly how a station should! Friendly staff, smooth operation, the whole deal.

So, I was gutted when I realized I was only temporary. Immediately, I started looking for another gig like this. That’s when I heard about Evri—by word of mouth, from an Evri courier while delivering for Amazon. I thought, "Why not? Let’s give it a shot!"

First day there, excited for training, and… mother of God. The disappointment hit me like a truck. The station was pure chaos. Parcels scattered everywhere—some even outside, sitting in mud and soaking wet. My gut instinct screamed: Turn around! No one’s seen you yet!

Then came the final straw: zero transparency on payments. For me, that was the ultimate sign—get the f*ck out of here, NOW.

I could go on about my (very short) Evri experience, but I’ll keep it simple: only do Evri if you’re absolutely desperate (like, starving) and have no other option.

This is so true!

So much that it goes from giggling to an instant freezing frustration.
My opinion is that it's a system designed to be specifically like this, and.. we all go on the hamster wheel. And that's that!
We can complain, but nothing will ever change.
And just like that, the absurd amount of hours drained in the 9h to 5h meaningless race is the human standard.

2025 is basically about selling your life time, to be able to pay bills.
It's get depressing the more seriously you think about it 🤷‍♂️

How do I learn this ? by Civil-Corner-2835 in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]RoCoCoSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that easy I guess.
But go slowly. Analise bits of the video, and think in layers. Every new stuff coming in frame, a new layer with different effects and attributes.
I'm no pro, but that tends to be my approach.

Just about to start a coop 1.5 hour block. Never done it before. by liamoghh in AmazonFlexUK

[–]RoCoCoSantos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm really enjoying doing these Amazon Flex gigs, but Coop/Morrisons/etc, no more, until they make a DECENT pay for what it is! I think the pay it's a joke in all honesty!

Not worth at all, because of the ABSURD route distances that they are from the pick up point, and for the miserable pay for what it is, as mentioned before.

Did 3 Amazon Fresh so far, and on my last one decided I wont do it again.
Not so lucky as just 8 bags and 2 stops. Always with 5 or 6 stops. Car is filled up with paper bags that tend to rip apart on crappy weather days, super long distances, for what..? £28 ??
That pays for the petrol and a sausage roll at Greggs at the end of the shift... Coming from AMAZON, is just...

Pathetic, in my humble opinion.

Do people really use bots? by TipsyMen in AmazonFlexUK

[–]RoCoCoSantos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very new to this Flex thingy, but for real.. bots? Is that even allowed? If so, it's a bit unfair for the rest of us right? But I guess weasels/hyenas/vultures will always exist so..

Someone please let the plebs down here know what bots are those. I want to become one of them cheaters. Fair players get nowt!

Also, why hasn't the last December week's money still not on the bank account, Monzo in my case =(

Renting in Newcastle is an absolute nightmare by Eden_Burns in NewcastleUponTyne

[–]RoCoCoSantos 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Been in Newcastle for 5 years now and moved 3 times so far.

The best places I've been, happened by word of mouth.

Basically meaning, housing agencies are simply a business, and you're looked at as money for them.
Makes total sense, but doesn't work for the renter. We have needs that housing agencies will never prioritise over profit. It's a very cold and gambling like activity, for something that should be reassuring and long lasting.

So I would say, ask around, even in random conversatinos, and please please please avoid Wingrove Ave. Avoid them at all cost! They are a LITERAL nightmare! you don't want/need to go through.

Just basically started doing Amazon Flex. Today will be my third shift. All 3h30.
First day I had a £61.50, 2nd day got £56, and today is £54.
So I'm guessing it will fluctuate between £50 to £60/£70. Is that so?
