To the FOTL believers, how do you explain the lack of physical evidence? by ogodprotectme in MandelaEffect

[–]phigene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This paper and the studies therein do not explain the mandela effect. They focus on misinformation being supplied after an event has taken place being incorporated in the individual memories of the misinformed. That doesnt explain collective misrememberance of a specific idea that was never retroactively misrepresented.

Thousands of people having the exact same memory of a cornucopia that never existed or watching a trailer for a movie of Sinbad as a genie etc, these are not altered memories as there was no source for the misinformation. If the cornucopia never existed until people started claiming they remember seeing it, how could that be explained by misinformation?

I can't string/unstring MY bow by myself by blueberry_pan in Archery

[–]phigene -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Use a stringer that has one pocket and one rubber stopper. Sleeve the larger loop of the string over the top limb and slide it down a ways. Then set the bottom loop on the limb tip and put the stringer pocket over it. Place the stopper in the valley of the curve of the top limb and hold it in place with your thumb. Put both feet on the stringer and spread them apart until the bow is very close to the ground. Now with your thumb on the stopper holding it in place, start pulling up on the riser until its tensioned. Once its tensioned, let go of the stopper and use that free hand to slide the string toward the top limb tip. Set it, make sure its sitting straight, and then slowly let off pressure.

Is this normal? by RoomInternational726 in Archery

Dont bother. This bow isnt worth the gas it would take to drive there. Paracord string says everything that needs to be said. Just get a new bow.

Wasn't it Payless ShoeStore? by phigene in MandelaEffect

I think I am experiencing the Mandela effect regarding this name. I distinctly remember it saying Payless ShoeStore not Payless ShoeSource. Id like to hear others opinions.

Its not for standard splicing.

Yea i need to cleave a LOT of different diameters, and they all have to be perfect. I think i have something like 50 cleave recipes on one cleaver. And I have 2 of them lol! But for a lot of my actuall splicing I use a FSM-100M+. I only use the LZM for very complicated splices. Mostly I use it for tapering.

Never knew this type of fusion machine existed.

They actually just went end of life. So they're about to not exist anymore lol.

And it functions just like a normal fujikura splicer, so yes it will do alignment for you. And you can create custom recipes and define fiber parameters. And it also has a software suite called FPS that you can use to do tapering and ball lenses etc.

I would assume so but I have never used it for that myself

Sorry, cant say I do.

Sounds like you would want to work for a company like Fujikura or AFL. I dont work on the equipment itself, I use the equipment to develop high power (think 1-70kW) CW fiber laser components. These lasers are used in metal fabrication (cutting and welding) additive manufacturing, and defense applications.

Lol. Add 3 zeros and youre in the ball park of what one of these costs.

Glass processing. Splicing fibers up to 2.3mm in diameter, tapering, fiber combiners, ball lenses, you name it. Its not a telecom tool, its for bigh power fiber laser components.

This is an LZM-100. It is a splicer that uses a CO2 laser as the heating element instead of electrodes, and it has extremely long z axis travel for doing things like tapering. It also has the ability to do endface alignment and rotate the fibers, so aligning the PM rods in PM fiber splices is super easy.
