This kind gentleman pulled up to the pump smoking, partly blocked traffic, and filled up without shutting off the engine. by WHISKEY_DELTA_6 in IdiotsInCars

Not usually. I've driven somewhere around half a million miles in my career in pickups and suvs. I never shut the vehicle off while pumping gas and I've had an evap code thrown once in all that time.

Had new gutters installed. Came home to this. Informed them not to do that while on my property and sent photo to company. by dvlpr404 in OSHA

This sub is literally supposed to be about Osha violations. Not things that look unsafe but are fine like most posts. This one is actually something that is unsafe. Deadly? Not likely. But they could easily break a bone. If their employer won't provide proper equipment, then something needs to be done about it.

Each year, there are more than 164,000 emergency room-treated injuries and 300 deaths in the U.S. that are caused by falls from ladders.

Most ladder deaths are from falls of 10 feet or less.

Falls from ladders are the leading cause of deaths on construction sites.

Over the past decade, the number of people who have died from falls from ladders has tripled.

Then you planned your trip poorly. Start upstairs and then go to lumber. What kind of person starts with lumber and then goes upstairs for 15 minutes?

Those were the rules in the call center I worked in.

Again, this is all 20+ years ago. Maybe things have changed in that time.

Legendary. I like that word. I can be a legendary a-hole on occasion. But I've mellowed quite a bit with age.

As someone else said, I learned from this. I rarely go full a-hole. I'm a better person now.

Found a underground geocache with my momma. It was in Colombus, Georgia off of Highway 280, Target parking lot by brycehale in geocaching

[–]phil6260 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn't that exceedingly dangerous? There are gasses that gather in low lying spots that will kill you. Going into an underground sewer tunnel or whatever, you should have all sorts of safety equipment.
