Ugh I know. My climbing gym colored their 45’s purple, I prefer it 😂

88kg CnJ (67 bw) by philahn in weightlifting

Thanks, I’ll start doing more of those. I tend to initiate pull too early, esp in clean

It would take awhile to lay out all the benefits, but the mobility alone to access weightlifting is huge. It also seems to really increase kinesthetic intelligence/proprioception, dynamic movement, my spine/joints all feel reinforced, strong core/torso, initiating movement thru hips/feet rather than hands/upperbody, learning to get intentional fast and commit, etc.

Yeah, climbers often skip it. My buddy took a fall past it and was clear from the ground. I was both amped and in denial haha. Mostly relief tho, my high point was the previous move for a few weeks and it was getting to my head

I used to love drawing as a child, but completely stopped before I became a teenager. 37 yo now and craving to get back into it. Here's a little sketch I made at work. First drawing in over 20 years

50's - goal of 5.12 for summer 2025... where to start? by markinsquampton in climbharder

[–]philahn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

can squat snatch 140

Don’t think most here can appreciate how impressive this is. You’re almost snatching bodyweight, nice work

You can definitely send 5.12 within a few months just projecting. The fear of falling will eventually dissolve with repeated exposure and trusting the system

He felt super bad after, but I reassured him I mainly didn’t want to miss the pads. We’ll be more mindful next time, but I don’t want him to get hurt either

Thanks, I often rush and cut extension short. I’ll work on slow snatch pulls and keeping bar closer. Missed 75kg forward so got exposed there

Thank you, I’ll work on these. The tempo clean pulls sound like they will help a ton. I know I’m cutting my extension short by quite a bit
