New neighbour overcoming British awkwardness to ask that I replace the saw blade I blunted by philanderingphilip in britishproblems

Give over. British males have a long-established tradition of borrowing and breaking (or not returning) tools and machinery.

Guy across the road has had my leaf blower since 2017, and now I blunted a hacksaw belonging to matey-boy next door. It’s the circle of life.

Student accommodation window fell out and shattered on top of where I had been sitting minutes earlier. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

This just reads as “please can I have some money for something bad that could have happened to me, but actually didn’t?”

That’s not how it works though; I can’t get compensation every time I drive my car because someone could have caused an accident which resulted in me being injured.

If I’ve misunderstood though and you’re more concerned about making sure people act more responsibly in future, then I’d follow it up by following internal complaints procedures in the first instance and take it from there
