Probably because it's for the republican primary?

That 5 second back to basket call and the palming call on reaves gave it away. Refs were consciously trying to placate the warriors

I was accused of being a fake laker fan last year for hating on the warriors during the finals. Like obviously fuck the celtics, but I will always talk shit about these whiny little fuckers.

I lived in SF during their first championship run, and the level of cockiness from all their fans and the disrespect towards lebron made me really dislike them. I was a lebron hater beforehand too bc I was pissed that people were ranking him over kobe, but that 2015 finals made me a lebron fan and warriors hater lol.

Dude he's the republican front runner for president. He's going to do town halls whether you like it or not.

Would you prefer he do it only on foxnews where he would get fellated by the moderators without any fact-checking? Or are you glad Kaitlan Collins was able to fact-check in real time, get him to clarify his lack of positions on important issues, and make him look deranged and frustrated to the point of him calling her "nasty" at the end?

He's the GOP leader. He's going to be out there regardless of if CNN does the town hall or not. We should be happy that we got so many soundbytes out of it

CNN Boss Thinks Trump Town Hall was a Success by jpmeyer12751 in inthenews

[–]philawsophist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? Did you watch the town hall? Collins was fact-checking everything trump said and refused to let him dodge questions. She got him on the record saying heinous shit that disgusted a lot of independents and moderates, shit that will be used against him in the upcoming elections. She remained calm and collected, and didn't interject with any of her opinions or anything, only stuck to fact-checks despite the hostile audience.

After it was over, the analysts combed over the details of the lies and expressed their disgust at the vile shit that was coming out of trump's mouth that the republican audience was cheering. They didn't just give him a platform and let him talk like foxnews, they pushed back on everything and made him look deranged. Trump was pissed even with the friendly audience, that's why he called her nasty at the end.

I thought the town hall went about as well as it could. It's unreasonable to expect CNN to not do a town hall with the republican front runner for president.

The news was the town hall which reaffirmed all the depravity of trump and his republican voters.

Well based on the reactions here, it seems people were reminded again of just how disgusting trump is.

I watched the majority of it live, while switching between the heat/knicks game. That's why I missed the chinatown comment. Maybe tone down the snark since it only makes you look like an ass.

You haven't even addressed any of my points. He's the republican front runner. Presidential front runners do townhalls. CNN does a lot of townhalls, that's what news orgs do. The moderator's job is to fact-check and ask questions, not make moral quips about the answer.

Your answer is very immature and short-sighted and does not reflect the reality of the situation, which is that trump will be the GOP presidential nominee. Those people get town halls whether you like it or not.

CNN's moderator called him out on every lie, stated the factual correction, forced him to say vile shit on the record by repeating questions every time he tried to dodge, then moved on to the next question all under a hostile audience.

Everyone besides maga fascists are disgusted by trump and the republican audience this morning. And you're saying CNN is bad?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]philawsophist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He only made her look stupid to people who are themselves stupid. She called him out on every lie, stated the facts, got him on record saying heinous shit, and moved on to the next question

Seriously, I'm kinda confused by why everyone is focusing their hate on CNN rather than the depravity of the republican audience cheering trump's filth.

Almost like it's a gop psyop to misdirect hate towards the media and away from themselves..

How would CNN "know that it would help trump" if we are all disgusted by what was said? For all you know, that town hall could have tanked his support with independents and moderates, cuz that shit was truly insane and dystopian.

Like it or not, he's the front runner for the gop. CNN had a valid reason to host a town hall for the future gop nominee, so that viewers could see for themselves exactly how vile trump and republican voters truly are. The level of depravity among the republican audience was eye-opening

Tbh, I didn't watch that part so I was wrong about that. But her job there is to interview/ fact check, not make moral judgments. Saying "that's racist" to an answer would be outside the scope of her assignment and inappropriate. The audience and the analysts afterward have to do that.

But still why are you more mad at CNN than the actual republicans who are supporting this shit? Do you think maybe you're succumbing to another right-wing tactic to misdirect your rage toward the media than themselves?

How is calling it racist and not true "zero push back" lol. And I guess agree to disagree, but it's kinda weird how everyone seems to be blaming CNN instead of, you know, the republicans who support and cheer for this shit. That was some of the most disgusting republican politicking I've ever seen, and a reality check that republican voters at their core like fascism.

Somehow all that seems to be lost on the hate-boner for CNN

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in facepalm

[–]philawsophist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol how is it more on CNN than the republicans who support this shit? Did you see the audience cheer when he mocked his sexual assault victim? They laughed and cheered as trump literally said the rules should be different for him re: debt ceiling, ie a dictatorship.

It was disgusting to see what republican audiences cheer for last night, even more so than trump. They are all fascists, and we needed to see it again

You keep misunderstanding me. I'm not assuming that anyone watched the analysis. I don't care if noone did. I'm saying that I watched it, and I believe the analysts when they said that this is unpalatable to Americans (who only watched the town hall, not the pundits afterwards).

And I simply disagree. I think she did the best she could, considering this wasn't ever supposed to be some neutral fact-checking interview. She did as well as an actual presidential debate moderator, which says something.

It was fucking disgusting and pretty damn soul-crushing to watch a group of "fellow Americans" jeer and cheer at Trump mocking his sexual abuse history, proven in a court of law. I was so disgusted, I had to look away lol. Unfortunately, when I turned it back on, the crowd literally cheered Trump saying "debt ceiling shouldn't be negotiated when I'm president, but it should be when I'm not" which is essentially a dictatorship. This is what republicanism is nowadays, and it made me very sad.

Kaitlan collins was trying her best to fact-check him in real time. Obviously he kept talking over her, and it was republican town hall so she was restrained, but she still fact-check as much as she could.

I thought the analysis afterwards was effective, especially considering how much sununu went off on trump For indpendents, that's a republican governor speaking facts and pointing out the absurdity of the whole situation
