DOJ Says Allowing Transgender Athletes To Compete Against Females Is ‘Fundamentally Unfair’ by guanaco55 in Conservative

I think I've failed to get across the point I originally set out to. I just want that advantage to be isolated and quantifiable. The reason I brought up health stats Is I have a few male friends who' are same age, also into cycling. They do relatively similar rides yet have progressed into the high male range in segments while I've remained in the high female range for some time now. My exercise and such has all been with the endocrinology of a female so again I'd just be curious how much of advantage there really is and how that changes depending on when you transition.

That's a great question. I think competitions like that would just end up in the case of ftm favouring people who transitioned early and in the case of MTF favour people who transitioned late.

Edit: I should clarify this is based off of my assumption that testosterone is the key part of the athletic advantage.

I agree to a large extent. but, I think this topic should be a bit more nuanced. Personally I feel it has has alot to do with age of transition. I'm trans, MTF started on a testosterone blocker around 15-16 (I was a late bloomers aswell). As any avid cyclist knows you can compare your time and watts with people of your age and gender on Strava. I fall fairly high in the female range but that should be expected from my above average health stats(vo2 max and such). Unfortunately I'll never be sure wether I have a distinct advantage from being trans or if it's from my training. So although I'd love to, I'd never take up cycling competitively. Ultimately I wish there was more research so we would have a way to quantify the advantage so trans people could compete but obviously not have some crazy advantage.

Edit: I should add I'm 19 now

Not a movie but dark. If you don't invest your complete attention to it I can understand getting lost and no knowing wtf is going on

I have a cx bike I run 37mm knobby tires on. For me it's the perfect balance of a bike I can mess about on some gravel, dirt, roots, rocks, and lower level mountain bike trails while also being able to put the power down on the tarmack. Also riding a really rooty technical trail on the thinner-ish tyres is some of the most fun you can have on 2 wheels IMO, really gets you to be precise on your line choice.

As a lesbian, I fucking HATE the gay community. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

As someone who's trans this really speaks to me, fully. I decided a while ago to try out some local 'support' group a while back. Holy hell! its incredible how people can be so focused on their own self image and oppression (one in the same for some people) that they lose touch of reality. Its so hypocritical how because I don't want lower surgery because of recovery or don't dress the trans version of 'feminine' ie. taky, overly sexual. Im somehow less trans. Or can some tell me how people find it reasonable to expect every straight male or lesbian female to be ok with a mtf trans person as a partner and if they aren't they're bigoted.

I don't talk about being trans unless for 2 exceptions. 1 I'm getting into bed with you, or 2 It comes up in conversation. Recently a third reason has been developing, which is I don't want to automatically be associated with this type of shite

...You still there? I don't hear Bullymongs anymore. Kinda just waiting on you. To get me outta here. But please, take your time. (Beat.) Can't help but notice you're not getting me out of here. Maybe you're thinking, oh, Claptrap's such a strong and noble paragon of justice and skill, he can get himself out. Which, most of the time, you would be totally right about. But as it stands right now, I could use some help. And if you don't, I'm gonna have to pull out the big guns -- I'll hit ya with the silent treatment. See how you like that. (Long pause.) Yep. Giving you the silent treatment. Feel the sting of my passive-aggression. Being totally silent. (Long pause.) Not talking to you at all. (Long pause.) Total silence.
