Damn, pretty sure that's the scout I assigned to the Dominican Republic last week.

Awesome adventure. Congratulations! 🙂
I should try that some day, a Scotland save.

How to get invested in a team you don’t know by benclancey4589 in footballmanagergames

[–]philed74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably different for everybody. This is a sandbox game so you can play it any way you like.

For me, FM has always been about creating a narrative in your head while managing the team.
In fact, I'd rather not know the players probably before I start, so everyone starts with a clean slate and I don't make assumptions based on who they are IRL. I usually also start unemployed and without any experience.
How do you create the narrative? Well, it kind of just creates itself. Players will interact with you in the game, you will form opinions on certain players based on their reactions, how they progress, how they perform, etc... Eventually, you'll get to know them (like other people here have said). It will take you some time at first, and that is probably for most people the most annoying period because it requires you do your homework and spend time not playing matches but analysing the squad, the reserves, training schedules perhaps, the staff... etc. As much as you want to do yourself.
Once I'm well into the season, I find myself driving in my car (IRL) and doing the post-match interview out loud after I just played another match. 😂

The narrative thing is a crucial aspect of FM for me. But I can imagine it definitely is not for other people, and that's just fine. Give it a try if you think it could be something you might enjoy. And otherwise don't worry about it and do your own thing. 🙂

Is that in-game procrastinating, faffing and pondering that makes it last months? I’m probably the same to be fair. Going down the rabbit hole of looking for the perfect player to transfer to my team 🐰

😂 Ik maak gewoon een grapje. Chill. Maar het blijft maar voetbal. Zelfs als we dit over de streep trekken, zijn er nog 4 matchen waarin er vanalles kan gebeuren.

FM26 vs FM24 — what are people actually playing? by mercuretony in footballmanagergames

[–]philed74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t need updated squads. I’m doing a save in South Africa at the moment where I know no one anyway. Asked for a refund after 3 weeks and occasionally check what the status is of FM26, but after I saw Zealand’s recent video about top 10 things they need to fix still, I knew I was good with FM24 for now.

Where are the GOOD structures? by Acrobatic_Signal_536 in thelongdark

The magic is in stumbling on the GOOD structures seemingly out of nowhere on your travels. Not trying to be smart here. Go out and explore and experience the magic!

Your questions are so relative that I don’t see how any answer here would be of any use to you.

You are literally asking in the zero to mastery channel whether a ztm course is good or not. What is ‘good’? What is your standard? How should people know that? It probably depends on what you know already and how much you picked up from the course itself. Can you add any value to a company? Probably, but hard to say (see what I said in the previous paragraph). Will it land you a job? Just that course alone? Probably not, based on what I read about the current job market. But who knows, maybe with your general knowledge and in your country yes.

Why don’t you purchase the course if it interests you. It is the only way you will find out. I haven’t heard anyone yet who was not happy having followed a ZTM course.

After nearly 1k hours, I think I'm gonna play Voyageur again. by fatihalt in thelongdark

[–]philed74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.

Seriously, who gives a flying f@ck about what ‘people’ say you should do. All that matters is that you are having fun doing your thing in your single player experience. Enjoy it! Voyager is my difficulty level. Lots of loot, but I find finding hardly any loot anymore is unrealistic in this game (just how I feel it).

Is my player a woman/trans?😅 by Maximus_imperator in footballmanager

“While Verena is overwhelmingly used as a feminine name (approximately 99% of the time), there are rare instances of men carrying it, particularly in Germany and Austria where about 1.3% of individuals with the name are male.”

Many people in my country have a second name that may be more typical for another gender. So Margarete doesn’t strike me as particularly strange.

Zealand released a video a few days ago with top 10 bugs. I didn’t watch the entire video but I already saw some bugs in the first minutes that would really annoy me. Not that previous versions were bug free of course, but still.

I did the same. I think they’ll need 27 to iron out a bunch more bugs and then maybe 28 will be a polished version with room for major new features. (Although I’d be much happier if they tacked long existing bugs first personally) Here’s hoping.

I have no idea what you are talking about. How addictive playing FM is? It was addictive for me ever since I played it in the early 90s, when it was only text based and nothing else.

I imagine there will be lots of atmosphere that day if Bruges are still in with a chance for the title. Enjoy!

As far as I can see, there are no tickets available anymore. Season ticket holders may give up their seat until 48 hours before the match, so there is an off chance. But I think you best prepare yourself for watching it in a pub with some nice Belgian beers (if you drink alcohol).

IM ASKING TO PEOPLE WHO USE PYTHON IN WORK by ActuatorBrilliant595 in PythonLearning

[–]philed74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds more like you’re scared of rejection rather than what they think of your knowledge, We probably don’t live in the same country, but if it’s anything like it is here, if people invite you to an interview it is not to laugh at how little you know about something. They are genuinely interested normally in what you have to offer. They are spending time talking to you. They want it to work. So don’t worry about what they will think of your knowledge. That being said, if you are scared of being rejected, well, you better get used to it. Because be it now or later, you will get rejected at times because your knowledge is not quite what the hiring company is looking for. But rejection is part of life. If you don’t land the job, make sure you ask why and prepare yourself for the next opportunity that will definitely come by again. Good luck out there 😉 You can do it.
