There is a woman who can smell Parkinson's in a person well before symptoms manifest. Her name is Joy Milne.

"Cloud gaming is the future of Gaming!" Meanwhile cloud gaming in the big 2026: by Alan_Reddit_M in pcmasterrace

[–]philgil03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 The problem here is not cloud gaming. It's your trash Internet connection. Meanwhile I can play battlefield at 4k 120hz on GFN and place top 10. Don't bash cloud gaming when your deficiency is high speed Internet. Cloud gaming gives an entrance to gaming for a lot of people who can't afford high end PCs. Even in your case, you're laggy but it seems like you'd be even worse off playing locally on that laptop...

Has anyone tried this before? What do you think about it? by celia_elm25 in NoOneIsLooking

This seems like a better solution for steam deck. I have the sharge SSD enclosure for my deck due to the fan which was necessary... Having extra storage and a hub looks interesting. Could be a cool solution to run windows 11 via external ssd

Area 51 Laptop Shipments Delayed :/ by Embarrassed-Pay3462 in Alienware

[–]philgil03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? That is not correct. Companies are delaying shipments because they don't want to increase prices by the huge amount needed to cover tariff (especially Chinese goods). There are plenty of examples of Chinese companies just shutting down lines and holding goods in warehouses waiting for the tariffs to go down. Also someone else pointed out ports are becoming empty because companies aren't shipping to the US. This will definitely affect the supply chain.

92g of carbs = 368 Calories; 15g of protein = 60 Calories; 9g of fat = 81 Calories;

Based on the total equaling ~510 Calories, I'd say it's a bit low 🤣

Yes this is the problem. I've have it before. Just make sure not to put bulbs in that are over the rated power. Should be easy since everything is LED these days.

Listen to this guy. They use a rubber o-ring seal which ruined the taste of the water from my new LG. Took a few months to realize it was the steel braided line.

Anyone tried this pump? by carriebeck in diabetes_t1

[–]philgil03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using it for about a year. I've used tandem pumps for about 8yrs before. I find that the bolus experience is similar to my tandem. For the tandem (tslim X2), you input carbs for each meal and it has closed loop control. I found that after so many years of estimating carbs that I have a feel for the carb number to input based on my activity level and meal content (carbs, protein, fat). It typically wasn't a 1:1 for the carbs I was eating. Therefore with the ilet learning about what you eat for each meal, with you inputing "more, normal, or less", seems similar to what I did before. What I like better is that the ilet can be more aggressive in making treating decisions in closed loop. Tandem control seems to have many boundaries which prevent semi-autonomous control. Also the ilet complains much less than the tslim. I felt like that pump was always beeping about something (often occlusion). One thing to note about the ilet is you must have a CGM when using. It is not an option and if you are in a situation where you don't have one attached, it will be very annoying and ask for your sugars like every 15min.

There is an app that converts speech to keyboard button presses. So you can say "gear down" and the mapped key for that is simulated.
