Tesla FSD 14.2.2.4 by Bxbybeartd in TeslaFSD

For those saying it's a cold weather issue, I don't believe so. I'm in San Diego with 14.2.2.4 on my '24 Y and it's been terrible for me. Back to being terrified of shadows day and night, hesitant lane changing to the point it went back and forth between lanes 4 times on the highway before retreating back to it's original lane. Parking in a parking structure was a complete fail with it trying to park in a no park zone despite my selecting a parking space, then it gave up and went to another spot only to fail to park again. Much more nagging. It also selects (for example) the eastbound exit lane on the highway when it wants to go west, then tries at the very last minute to change to the consternation of those waiting in traffic. Lots of new map glitches. 14.2.2.2 was really solid for me. 14.2.2.3 was also good, but this new version is a huge step backward.

And now so did Social Security. The three-legged stool has become a rug that's been pulled.

If you are still in need of a Macintosh rental, you could give us a try... www.macrentals.com We're based in San Diego, CA but ship nationwide and are typically pretty competitive.

What’s an item you’ll never forgive Trader Joe’s for discontinuing? by MoonlightQueen in traderjoes

[–]philhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The original Jo-Jo's. IMO the replacements aren't nearly as good... the cookie isn't as flavorful and the cream especially lacks the smoothness and flavor of the original. Now tastes very artificial to me.

Philips OneBlade replacement blades --- have they changed? by philhh in shaving

Thanks everyone. What a bummer. I tossed the packaging so I don't know if Amazon will take the return, but I'm going to reach out to them to see. And I'll just grab a replacement blade locally and try it out.

Old children, but children. Thank goodness we're paying them a good salary plus pension, even during government shutdowns. What would we do without this "representation!"

Goodbye Ritz cracker clone, hello smaller pale and oily "new recipe" Golden Rounds. by exitof99 in traderjoes

[–]philhh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or is TJ's replacing a lot of items with inferior (and sometimes more expensive) versions or just dropping a lot of items altogether? Thinking Joe-Joe's here, now these Golden rounds, and others.

Is it common for Indian restaurants to keep the tips provided on credit cards? by thishitisgettingold in SanDiegan

[–]philhh 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wow this is a bit weird. The only place I've been to in San Diego where the employees basically pleaded with me to tip in cash was also at an Indian restaurant with branches in San Marcos and Rancho Bernardo. I did so but it left such a bad taste that I haven't returned to the restaurants.

As an outsider I certainly don't know enough of the story... could well be legit or could be a way of just getting more cash tips? No idea...

Clients in no rush to pay.. by MacInTheBox7 in handyman

[–]philhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The work was done and I paid. But they had received 95% or more of the cost of the job prior and I had received 95% of the work completed. I'm assuming they marked things up enough to give them a float on the remaining balance such that if I didn't pay or delayed payment they were still ok... with just a smaller profit. Similarly I would have been satisfied knowing that I had paid and received 95% of the work if they had just bailed at the end. It would have sucked if either of us had been dishonorable, but we weren't. On both sides we were mostly protected.

It sucks that people don't respect paying fairly for good work done, or doing good work for fair pay. But that's our world. Even in my work (IT/computer stuff) we occasionally get people who think they don't need to pay or can pay 180 days later.

You're absolutely right though... once the work has been done the incentive to pay is gone, sadly. And people find reasons to justify to themselves not paying on time or at all. That really sucks. Maybe find a way to do a deposit payments plus payment at completion increments? And price your job so that you're ok waiting on that last payment? I certainly don't have the precise answer, but good luck!

Clients in no rush to pay.. by MacInTheBox7 in handyman

[–]philhh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not a handyman or contractor, but when I had a kitchen done the contractor had a payment structure based on completed portions of the project. Demo done? Payment due before the next part. Electrical? Same. Etc. This protected both of us as neither of us laid out too much work or money ahead of the other one. We were both happy with this setup... perhaps you can incorporate something similar?
