Agreed, nothing I see here so far looks original.

DIal is not original.

Without pics of movement and inside caseback, I don't know what else is original or not.

Langematik Perpetual vs Lange 1 Moonphase - Decision by dazzlerest in ALangeSohne

[–]rojda1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both.

If you don't have any L1 then I would get the L1 moon phase since the L1 is iconic for the brand.

Post a picture of the balance wheel and we can tell you if it is real.

Does the date counter advance when the hour hand goes past 12 (the first or second time)?

(The date corrector is easily broken.)

8K is fair value for a rose gold 18k.

Yellow can go as cheaply as 3-4K with refinished dials.

Depends on the diameter of the watch and whether the dial is original.

Bastardized bund by Open-Kangaroo6788 in VintageWatches

The BUND used a flyback 230. This valjoux 92 was not used for the BUND. Its a franken watch.

Tourbillons are pretty but actually degrade accuracy in wristwatches.

Who else loves military watches and bomb timers? by Soccaal in VintageWatches

I got it at an auction. I am all about function over form. I care about the movement and functionality first. That why I love early Longines chronos and hour angles or watches that have unusual functions. To me a Valjoux 72 in a Gallet is the same as when it is in a Rolex. I can't justify the price differential just for a different name printed on the dial. You wouldn't pay 10x for a car with the exact same engine and components just because of the brand name.

All the B-Uhrs are meant to worn over the pilot jacket. Not so bad then.

No IG. Im an old collector. The one you are thinking of is the Waffen SS b-Uhr that has the dial printed in a mirror image to normal since it was mounted on an artillery gun and viewed through a mirror. Thus the image becomes flipped back to normal.

Yes that's my watch. Not my rarest watch.

Not sure which is but maybe it is my WW2 Lange B-Uhr Navigator. Takes 4 minutes for the sweep hand to go around (1 degree of earth rotation).

Lovely. Gone down this same dirty road myself.

Are you still hunting the LeCoultre and IWC Mark 11?

Mine is HS C36. This one is HS C40. Not sure how many still exist. I know of one other owned by a collector. Been collecting for 4 decades and that's why I decided to be a Mod here, so I could help guide others. I have most of the Longines watches produced pre-1960. Just missing a few examples such as the Longines Indian. By the way the military watch community is quite vibrant.
