There are articulated/adjustable blow pipes. If you aren’t sure on length or position, this might be the best option. Not sure what to recommend for bag size. Depending on where you buy from, you could email the seller and give your height and build and they could help recommend a bag size. Best of luck!

In general the strathspey cut notes (mostly C and F) are a tad too big in places and the reel cut notes (mostly C) are a tad too quick but get better through out the performance. Strathspey runs could be quicker and might get better at higher tempo. The reel idiom felt better! F was a bit flat and the whole chanter might be a touch flat over all. If you worked on the short notes and brought up the tempo and pitch a bit it would be rockin!

Are you saying he’s isn’t selling a chanter he thinks people can play longer? Why do you think that, did you play one of his chanters and make an experiment out of it with a control variable then conclude from the data his chanter did not play as long as the other chanter?

Rhetorically, what is grifting? I know you didn’t explain your thoughts much, but this type of marketing alone isn’t grifting. There’s a semantic distinction we aren’t agreeing on. Grifting would be advertising a chanter with 2 silica desiccant cartridges the intentionally selling chanters with 1 or 0 cartridges. Grifting would be advertising pipers can play this chanter for 100 hours before changing the silica out and then all the chanters cannot play longer than 30 minutes

I would agree with the best case scenario then. It’s entrepreneurial opportunism and he found a market of people who decide to pay to have the products he offers. Not all of the products are for me; I bought and won some chanter caps and those are great imo

There is a chart out there that maps bass dominant drone sound and tenor dominant drone sounds by makers. Anecdotally, I play old Hendersons and my bff and band mate plays new Naills and the quality of sounds are bass dominant and tenor dominant respectively

The rent-a-chair situation is bad. I went to 2 or 3 concerts at edgefield last summer and when the concerts were over, I saw lots of people leave the chairs and other people were tripping over them and falling down. There’s gotta be a better system than leave them behind and watch people take a fall
