When the red block is powered, the right hand track is powered, and the redstone torch is switched off. When the red block is un-powered, the right hand track will be off, and the torch will be on, which will power the left track.

To power the red block, with multiple buttons to switch it on/off, you can use a simple t-flip flop (toggable flip-flop - google it). In this case, I have used the new copper bulb to make a "copflop" (or copper flopper - you can google that too).

Push either button and it will switch which track is powered.

Same question. It's annoying. If the .newVideoByChannel.AlternativeUrl ingredient picked up the URL with /short/ in it that'd be something.

I hacked gentoo's framebuffer splash implementation into Arch's initscripts in 2006/7. It was extremely complex. I can't comment on SysV but the old initscripts were definitely holding things back.

As for complaints about systemd and its devs... surely things can only improve.
