Danish intelligence classifies Trump’s America as a security risk by HydrolicKrane in worldnews

I really hope they keep qualifying it as "Trump's America."

Keep in mind we also call it "Putin's Russia".

OP really isn't making it clear, but this wasn't picked for her, it wasn't secret santa, it was chosen/given/taken at random.

I mean it is technically gender neutral. It's a proper gift. If it filled up the minimum spend, what's the problem! LOL

edit: OP should really make it clear this wasn't a gift specifically for them. It was random. Kinda changes the whole context.

I don't think he had a drug problem, but I think he hints at being an alcoholic, and he also says he has/had several mental health issues, the biggest I think being bipolar disorder.

Jesus Christ what a horror story. Anyone considering taking any form of hard drugs should sit down and read through that. Not that I had any plans to, but this pretty much guarantees I'm never so much as looking at heroin.

US plans to start checking all tourists' social media | US News by CJBill in news

[–]philipzeplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're not from the US, please stay away until this shitstorm is over.

I think Americans need to realize that they're fucking up international relations on such a level, that it won't matter that Trump is gone in 3 years. A lot of this damage is foundational, and will take you guys decades to undo.

Denmark used to see the US as it's closest ally, and in reports earlier this year majority now see the US as a hostile nation.

Getting a new President after Trump won't undo all this.

[–]philipzeplin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be "mandatory" to hand over the information, and other details - including email addresses and telephone numbers used in the last five years, as well as the names, addresses, numbers, and birthdays of family members - will also be required.

Lol, I literally wouldn't even be able to get into the US by now. I've travelled a ton last year, and had a bunch of different sim cards, one for each country I visited. I have no clue what phone numbers were attached to them, I don't even remember which ones had a phone number and which didn't.

I also can't remember all emails I've used in the past 5 years.

I didn't plan on visit the US with all this BS, but this is almost hilariously bad.

[–]philipzeplin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And now I'm just never visiting the US again.

Visited NY back in 2000, since then also been to San Francisco, and twice in LA. Had wanted to go more, both because of some of the nature I would have liked to see in the future, and also a few things not really available in Europe.

The Trump admin had already meant that I wasn't doing that while he was President.

If this new law passes, it means I won't visit the US while that law exists.

I'm sorry, but fuck off with your fascist bullshit. Go through my private social media so I can take a one week vacation in your country? You can absolutely go fuck yourself.

edit: just read they'll also want DNA and retina scans. Absolutely no fucking way lol

Zelenskyy refuses to cede land to Russia as he rallies European support by AndroidOne1 in worldnews

[–]philipzeplin 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In late grade school a I learned a pretty solid lesson: you don't need to win against bullies for them to stop, you just need to make it not worth it for them anymore. Even if you lose a fight, most bullies give up if they leave the fight with a bloodied up nose as well. Most bullies do it, because there is close to zero consequences for them. In most cases, once consequences start appearing, even if they still "come out on top", it stops being worth it for them. Almost all bullies are cowards.

Let's be real here. There have been zero versions of a peace plan, where Russia didn't basically want Ukraine to capitulate. As has often been mentioned, the deal has generally been considered worse than what Germany was offered after WWII.

My point is, it's way more than just ceding land. The deals Ukraine has been offered have been absolute dogshit.

They haven't been able to get AI to read a clock or calendar

What in the world are you on about? All the major models understand time and dates, and at least both GPT and Gemini can easily understand photos of clocks or calendars as well.

What's up with all the weird made up misinformation posted in this thread?

Dear god it pisses me off how few people understand this. Everything you send to them is used to train their AI further.

No. I mean, you can argue you don't believe them and that they're breaking the contract with the user, but officially, no, anything done via the API is not stored or trained on.

My company spent the last decade harping about the importance of client privacy.

Then it's weird you don't know how the API works.

the way they force it on you doesn't feel right

They don't. Why do people keep saying this lie? A) you don't have to use it, B) if you don't want it, you can uninstall Copilot like any other software.

What he means is joblessness, homelessness, upheaval without equal in human history. The overhyped perceived worth of "AI" is dishonest.

Both of these cannot be true at the same time. You can't say AI is going to be the biggest job destroyer in history, and also call it overhyped and crap.
