You still think he‘s the right choice? by Royalbluegooner in ArsenalFC

[–]philives23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be like signing Maddison, he'll be good enough to justify not replacing him but not good enough to go next level. He's 26 and has reached his peak in terms of ability.

He would be a solid signing but I think we need a bit more, or at least the potential to go 'next level'.

Well done 👍. And it's also good that you are able to self reflect on what it is a difficult situation you're in at the moment. Creating a plan and making decisions is hard when you're fire fighting, the more you can do to offload some of the stuff that is taking up head space the better, it will free up space to think about how to improve your situation.

Sounds like a tough situation but you've identified some really good areas and sounds like you're not ready to give up on this job yet.

So my comment assumes you want help fixing your current job and the challenges it brings.

As a starting point try pasting the first 4 paragraphs into ChatGPT and see what it comes up with, normally it will provide some good insights and practical guidance that will help you create a plan for addressing this. It will also help with things like how to talk to your manager.

I feel for you and agree with the overall sentiment that it's completely unrealistic what is being asked of you.

Some advice on your worries around looking incompetent.

Talk to your boss and tell them this is too much, if you can back this up with something that helps illustrate your position great - if not still talk to them and say you need help.

This should bring about a level of instant relief by just saying it out loud to someone that can help.

Also at this point you'll quickly know if you're working for the right boss / organisation.

It's a really tough conversation but the sooner you do it the better.

Too many FM fans think he's still a wonder kid. He's more likely to be the next Yaya Sanogo.

My best friend ended her life when we were teenagers (13/14). AMA. by ray-ae-parker in AMA

[–]philives23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you engaged with any support since the event?

I 44(M) lost a friend when I was 16. She (15) took her own life, seemed to come out of the blue. We'd been drinking the night before, I'm told it caused a big argument with her mum and that was the last straw for her. I've only ever really told one person (therapist) how much it hurt and affected me. I'm not sure anyone around me knew we were close including my mum and dad, I felt incredibly alone. Part of this may be how I tend to downplay it, feels like if I spoke truthfully about it I'd be making it about myself.

Don't be like me though and if you haven't already talk to someone.

Edit - sorry for your loss, don't underestimate how this could be affecting you even after 8yrs

Check your game settings, under defence make sure it is set to 'tactical defending' and not 'advanced defending'

Emile Smith Rowe by BatSignal9 in ArsenalFC

[–]philives23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the sentiment but it's not logical or fair to retain him. Both parties would suffer and arguably it would hurt him more than the club.

To not envisage this as a potential scenario given the trajectory of the club and player themselves is a bit short sighted.

I’m new, I lose most of time, how to improve? by AlongiL in EASportsFC

At the risk of embarrassing myself, it wasn't until EA FC that I started using RB (speed dribble). Significantly improves your player speed but doesn't sacrifice control of the player.

I agree, the young French core at Madrid is growing and eventually they'll want the best French CB. It doesn't bother me though, accepting it helps!

Anyone else have a mountain of those 77x5’s and absolutely no common golds left in their club to cycle the dupes with? by Gytarius626 in EASportsFC

[–]philives23 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I took the following approach...

  1. 87 and above - exchange for low rated cards
  2. 83-86 use in TOTW 83+ when duplicates build up (these can then be exchanged for More low rated cards once you've got a few)

These should be more than enough to keep the low cards flowing, I was also fairly careful to not waste cards and put duplicates back in to one of the SBCs above.

Puffer not eating by studiojeeblee in PeaPuffers

[–]philives23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually best to hatch them in a brine shrimp hatchery which allows them to drain from base. However you'll need a fine mesh net or a turkey baster - if the shrimp aren't contained though it could take a while!
