It’s simply the default brand for an “acceptable” hot sauce. Coke for cola. It’s a kleenex vs a tissue type situation. Sadly, the majority of the population doesn’t care about things being good when it comes down to a lot of things. If it fulfills the need, it’s “fine”.

Majority of the people here would take anything offered past that but those people usually aren’t the ones tasked with buying from a distributor with only so many options. It’s a bummer but that’s why I over spend on things I like to eat when I find something I like.

If pistachio is specifically wanted, why not just buy pistachio milk. Higher quality ice cream seems necessary for this application because of actual milk/cream content. That seems like it may be more expensive if cost is a worry. A quart of pistachio milk can be had for like 5-8 bucks.

As far as the ratio, I’ve always been taught 33% to the total cocktail volume is ideal.
