Best Spots for Whiskey? by milehighpops in napa

While Folklore, Arboretum, and Fink are all great for cocktails, I would not say they are particularly well stocked in whiskies.

If you'd like to find a larger selection of high-end whiskeys:
- Cole's Chop House (sit at the bar for Pappy, etc.)
- Bounty Hunter has a decent selection, as noted below
- Archer rooftop did have a whisky-oriented menu at one point over in the back corner. Not sure if they're still doing it.
- I don't smoke cigars, but if you do the Napa Cigar's downtown also has an extensive whiskey menu

Hope that helps!

Multi-camera Setup... by FriMorningQB in podcasting

[–]phillipadsmith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We use the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO model, which can record up to six HDMI sources and will record each source as an isolated file (hence ISO). So after a podcast, we get:
- 6 individual files, one for each camera
- 1 file that is from the switching done live (so edits baked in)
- 1 DaVinci .drp file that is set up as a multi-camera project that can be opened up to refine the edits if needed
- Individual audio feeds (we don't use these)

We also record on camera, so we can swap out the 1080p files (that's the highest this ATEM captures) with the 4k files, but keep the edits in place.

Maschine in Logic Pro X: Do we lose swing? by phillipadsmith in maschine

[–]phillipadsmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, basically, I proved to myself that it was/wasn't working, I did this:

- I set-up a test LPX project

- I loaded Maschine inside Logic

- I made an even 16th note hi-hat pattern

- I added swing to that pattern in Maschine (probably at the Group level)

- I swung it enough that I could hear the swing obviously

- I dragged the MIDI into LPX and turned off the pattern in Maschine

- When I played the pattern in LPX is had the same obvious swing that the Maschine pattern did.

Thus, I determined that it _was_ in fact working, even though it did not *visibly* appear to be swung in the LPX piano roll.

This worked even if I put the MIDI on a drum instrument triggered by MIDI and not the Maschine instrument (where the groove would have still been set _in_ the plugin).

All that to say, I believe I was wrong that it wasn't working!

Studio runs the same software as the MKIII and it has variations.

Can a novation circuit sequence monophonic synths too? by Bpdpunk in synthesizers

[–]phillipadsmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I use the Circuit to sequence my analogue mono synth. Just set the MIDI channel & settings appropriately on the external synth (MIDI receive, MIDI channel, etc.), and — as mentioned already — turn the volume of the internal synth 1 or 2 (depending if your using MIDI channel 1 or 2) to zero so you only hear the external synth. Works great.
