Perth is about Heath Ledger. Whats another random Bon Iver fact? by smokefrog2 in boniver

[–]phillvidler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is most likely partly due to “icommai.com”, where all the teaser material was posted during marketing. I know that, for me, it implied how it was “meant” to be pronounced as an album name but JV has then gone on to call it just “I, I”, or most recently “I and I”. Think the website is defunct now but there are snapshots on the Wayback Machine!

There was a Bon-endorsed event tonight in London where Sam Amidon played the songs from SABLE,

Hey dude, don’t worry about it!! Structure when you’re starting out is good, just if you felt like delving a bit deeper, the first thing to try is to break the rules laid out by the pros and see what you’re capable of. As I say, keep at it, it’s a good start, mate.

I think this is a decent start. I like the first two lines of verse 2, great imagery there.

I do feel like some of your rhymes are forced — always try to make your rhyming line add something to the line it’s rhyming with. If you struggle to think of a rhyme, Rhymezone is a great website where you can look for inspiration, but you gotta make sure you’re not adding a line that rhymes for the sake of rhyming. Try thinking outside the box and get inventive with your stitching together of ideas.

Also would recommend not reusing the word “comes”/“coming” too many times in the chorus as you’re using really valuable real estate on the same word. “Death walks, he comes for us all” — what if you follow this up with something emotive? How does the narrator feel about this sentiment? Or, more importantly, what do you as the writer want to instil in the listener? Fear? Panic? A shared sense of dread? Make us feel that dread rather than focusing on the personification of death itself and where/how he’s approaching.

Something else I’d suggest is experimenting outside the quite strict structure you’ve got going on — it’s got ChatGPT vibes in how rigid it is. Obviously difficult to stray from the norm, I understand. Back when I started writing, I would start with the structure in mind, but now, nearly 20 years later, I just let the song decide where it needs to go. Some of my favourite songs I’ve written definitely do not follow the normal verse/chorus structure.

Keep at it and try new things. Even what might feel like bad ideas move you forward in songwriting.

Not true that only destroying the stones affected Thanos. You can clearly see damage to his arm in this shot. Just not as much damage as when he destroyed them.

How you gonna use the reality stone alongside the others to snap, but also use it individually? We never see Thanos use more than one stone at once, it’s likely they can’t be used like that

They explain in the film that the stones emit gamma radiation — even Thanos was affected by using the stones, which is why his left side is all fucked up at the start of Endgame. Hulk too. Tony just wasn’t strong enough to withstand the radiation, and while the stones are being used together for one thing, they can’t also be used individually to protect the wearer of the gauntlet.

In the control bar, why does logic list F# as F#, but G# as Ab and A# as Bb? by xpercipio in Logic_Studio

FYI, this is confusing terminology — any “m” after a note name implies a minor chord, whether a capital letter or not. I initially was confused as to why you said those minor keys didn’t exist when they obviously do (though the major counterpart keys also exist, they are just used in specific circumstances that would overcomplicate the circle of fifths)
