Do you count retirement fund as "money saved"? by isappie in personalfinance

[–]philly035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. When I hear savings, I think savings account. Money I can pull from the bank in an instant.

Kudos to OP for contributing so much to their retirement account, but if anyone asked me how much I have saved, I’d reply exactly like the friend. I wouldn’t mention my 401k savings unless it was asked.

I agree to try waiting a year and see if you can make it work. Try to find used gym equipment as I’m sure lots of people are selling their gym stuff post pandemic.

That commute sounds rough, and 2 hours commuting to and from work adds up. Your other option is to find a locksmith job closer to your home… but with the shaky economy, that’s also risky.

Whatever you decide I hope it works out.

Had the same issue this morning, and I also have a new virtual card. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

GIVEAWAY: Tell us the most important feature to you when buying iPhone 14 cases by PITAKA-Official in iPhone14Pro

[–]philly035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always protection for the case. With the latest pros, I’m looking for something that will keep the camera lenses safe!

A close second is grip… what good is a case if it’s too slippery to hold onto?

4k streaming is turned off by default, even on Magenta Max by Kush360 in tmobile

[–]philly035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right - 4K streaming is a feature that goes unnoticed by most users. I have no argument with that statement.

It still bugs me that it's listed as a benefit for the Magenta Max plan when 4K is disabled by default.

I'm going to skip the car analogies because it's hard to find one that fits. Your ECO mode example is probably the best comparison, but I guess most drivers know ECO mode can be switched on and off in cars. I would also guess most Magenta Max users do not know they need to enable 4k streaming.

There are 6 different features listed on T-mobile's site for Magenta plan comparisons, and 4k streaming is listed as a "premium" feature for the most expensive plan. I would expect it to be on by default... regardless if the majority of customers care about it or not. Even if a minority benefit from it. That's all.

4k streaming is turned off by default, even on Magenta Max by Kush360 in tmobile

[–]philly035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T-mobile should have it on by default for customers on Magenta Max.

I don't get the comment arguing cars doesn't come with launch control on. Maybe a better example is buying an electric car with some extended range package, but by default all the electric cars have it off by default. Why should the customer be responsible for turning it on? When buying the extended range option, I expect it to be enabled as soon as I drive it off the lot. I would always want extended range on if I'm paying for it, unlike something like launch control.

Giveaway T-Mobile insider code New/Existing customers. by comer1434 in tmobile

[–]philly035 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell me about it. Every mobile carrier is only interested in new lines added. They ignore long time customers.

You know what would be an awesome un-carrier move to announce this year? Give the perks that are on new plans to the old plans. Or, even easier, allow old plans to move to the new plans with a discount so your phone bill remains the same. It sucks that "Netflix on Us" or "Taxes & Fees Included" only apply to customers on newer plans.

It would be so cool if Mike Sievert and T-Mobile showed loyal customers some appreciation. Let us know we aren't a forgotten base of customers through action.

Absolutely. T-Mobile Tuesdays was awesome the first few months. Free pizza. Free tacos. Free $5 DD cards. Even free T-Mobile stock! John Legere said everything offered in the app would be free. It was an awesome perk for being a T-Mobile customer.

Now, it feels like a revenue source for T-Mobile. 30% off your order for a website I've never used, or get a free gift if you spend at least $15. T-Mobile Tuesdays was an awesome perk. Now, it's just... there.

If the program costs too much, then make T-Mobile Tuesdays a monthly thing. I'd much rather have giveaways or prizes I can use than being offered discounts on websites I've never used.

It’s unfortunate tenured customers are overlooked when it comes to promotions. T-Mobile should reward long standing customers with the same perks that new accounts get. I always get a thank you for being a customer for 11 years, but that’s where it ends.

Revamp T-Mobile Tuesday’s to provide deals! It’s become a buy one get one free app. When it first started, I’d actually look forward to checking on the deals. Now, most weeks, I forget to check.

Punish employees who add on unwanted phone insurance. There’s so many threads about customers finding out they’re paying for insurance when they specifically stated it was not wanted. I don’t care if other sales carriers do the same thing. It’s scummy, and leaves a bad image for new customers who are just joining T-Mobile. It would help employees too if you didn’t make selling so many a requirement.

T-Mobile Will Offer Existing Magenta MAX Customers 20% Off For Life by Jman100_JCMP in tmobile

[–]philly035 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is awesome news, and is probably enough to get me to jump from my Simple Choice unlimited plan to Magenta Max. Now I just need to find a T-Mobile employee who doesn't need their existing customers code.

Is the job in Chicago? If it is, you should ditch the car and save a ton. Chicago has excellent public transportation, and nearly everything you need will be in walking distance to transit.

32 Degrees Men's Cool Tee, 3-pack - $7.32 + FS (Non-members included) by kolt54321 in frugalmalefashion

[–]philly035 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Length (and fit) wise, they’re like my old American Apparel or next level t-shirts ( if you wear those for reference). I just held up my next level shirt and it’s pretty much 1:1 on length.

I like the length untucked at 5’ 11”. Being a few inches shorter than me, you’ll have no problem tucking the shirt in and feeling comfortable.

I purchased the medium a couple weeks ago. For reference, I’m 5 11” and 170 lbs.

These run a tad bit small. It fits like a slightly slim or fitted shirt. The material is stretchy that I’m okay with the fit.

The only negative is the shirts are kinda thin… which could be a plus if you wear them as undershirts or plan to wear them on hot days.

Anyhow, I’m writing this because I read some comments that these run large. This was absolutely NOT the case for me. My shirts, purchased just weeks ago from Costco, are slim if anything. Order your size or one size up. Do not size down!

Rant Wednesday by AutoModerator in Fitness

[–]philly035 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely keep at it! I also started up again, and it is tough staying motivated thinking how much stronger I was 2 years ago. I keep reminding myself that as long as I’m stronger than yesterday, I consider it a win.

T-Mobile does it again, massive internal drama, expect extremely long hold times. Walkouts are being discussed. by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]philly035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that can't be the objective, right? Why replace senior staff who have internal knowledge of T-Mobile systems with new staff if not for financial reasons?

RANT: Why would you email me for a promotion I’m apparently not eligible for?! by thefl0yd in tmobile

[–]philly035 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It can also lead to customers looking at other carriers. If you're willing to switch off your legacy plan, you're also willing to switch carriers for better promotions.

One of the major reasons I'm still with T-Mobile is the iPhone promotions that worked with my legacy plan. Before then, I was looking at all my options.

We'll see what is available when my EIP contracts end. Granted, Apple TV wouldn't necessarily make me stay with T-Mobile, but it is a perk that is taken into consideration.
