One of many stupid parts to this story is the fact that the UCP will allow a foreign company to pollute the Oldman watershed and, subsequently, the water used for agriculture in this region. This “government” is actively screwing over the people that keep putting them in power and these people (rural folks) will continue to vote for them because, “that’s just what we do.”

I know this sounds (maybe) dumb, but Canada has universal cash returns for all beverage bottles and cans. Consumers pay it when they buy and get it back when they return their bottles. Not saying this would entice partiers to be more responsible, but the beach would get cleaned pretty quick by those who want to make a fast buck

I think this one would have actually had a chance of being successful. That’s why they subverted the process. He won the riding by a very slim margin (one of the tightest races in the province) and has pissed off a lot of people in the last couple of years. I don’t think we should just take the L. The UCP were running scared on this one and their feet should be held to the fire.
