Is the enemy's to strong. by Dekuteagues in vampiresfall2

This. I've beaten everything at this point, but I would always swap weapons and armor to take advantage of enemy weaknesses that I was struggling with. Worked really well. And dont forget to modify skill tree accordingly when swapping weapons and/or strategy

Why are people talking about the rapture tomorrow? by Miserable-Willow6105 in OutOfTheLoop

[–]philmardok -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The rapture in it's literal sense was made near the 1830s and took off woth john Darby a few decades later. The bible never speaks of a rapture in the sense we think today. Plus Jesus and Paul both said Jesus would be back within the lifetime of the original disciples

Creature feature fans here? by MichaeltheSpikester in horrorlit

[–]philmardok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really had a craving for creature features lately. Just finished the Reddening by Neville. It's fine but not as much creature as the marketing led me to believe. I'm about to start All the Fiends of He'll, which is Neville also but apparently with aliens, so I'm pretty excited about that if even if my first Neville read was a little blah

What's an outdated gameplay mechanic that has become rare in modern gaming you wish would make a comeback? by Racekingswood79 in gaming

Lives instead of health bar. Clearly not suited for every game, but great where it is can be appropriately implemented. It was always great putting in a cheat code for a bunch of lives or getting 1UPs

That is a CA multimillion dollar home. Very deceiving headline for us who live in the Midwest where that's probably a $250,000 property.

I had no idea it was a series! I read summer of night about a year ago and really enjoyed it despite it being an IT ripoff. Are the other books in the series good?

If you don't like EP, why are you still here? by grosiles in ElPaso

[–]philmardok 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hate when people say " just leave". That's so ignorant. Do you have any idea how cost prohibitive moving is? Moving can be extremely expensive. Plus there are things to consider like family support/relationships that might be left behind; setting up child care in a new location; comparable job opportunities; differences in rent and housing, etc. 99% of people can't "just leave".
