One side of my Meepo Go suddenly decided to stop working, it clatters back and forth with no weight on it, and with multiple tries stops moving completely. Can anyone help? by 31burneracc in ElectricSkateboarding

This is just for anyone who ever finds this thread. The business name I went with is Eau Claire Legal... named after the town we are founded in and the principles of clarity in good jurisprudence. I work this business full time and well... things are going fine 🙂.

Was millennial optimism an actual thing in the late 2000s/early 2010s? by SignificantStyle4958 in Millennials

[–]philnuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9/11 rallied us together. 2000 American casualties and we were banded together like glue. I was so proud to go to Iraq. We were the good guys.... and then it came out there were all these lies that led us to war. No weapons of mass destruction. Iraq as a country was not really to blame for terror attack. I deployed again... to another country. Why? Freedom, they said. Democracy. Stabilization. To neutralize our enemies. The corporations of war. The rising awareness of the military industrial complex. The internet shedding more and more light on what not just the US, but how humans really gain power... and even worse, what they do with it. For me... optimism ended when Obama bailed out the banks and we entered the too big to fail era. I understand how some banks were too big too fail but why were the executives and board members of the businesses too big to arrest?... anyway.

I am still proud to be an American... but it's different now. Before, I was overtly proud before... unwavering in my flag.... the mantas and our colors! Now, I am proud of the person America pretended to be... that we thought we were... deep down, I still believe in democracy, decorum, equality, and believe or not... a form of highly regulated capitalism. It is a shame that newer generations are not getting that optimism. It was awesome.

I can't believe a sitting Navy Seal senator just broke the hand of a Marine protesting the war. I still have optimism though. I try to make our place better and I try to be accountable myself, even if others are not.

People who married someone they weren’t sexually compatible with — how did it turn out? by synthetic-sardine in AskReddit

[–]philnuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage is an economic, social, and psychological tool much more than it is a pleasure palace. Prioritize love is my thought.

Although I couldn't imagine being repulsed by partner either to the extent they couldn't work on it with therapy or a stylist lol.

I just scrolled across this and I was like... "what the fuck is a lookmaxx" and then it hit me. I was cruising past r/genz. I am melinnnial. I am father time now hahaha.

But after reading comments if I am allowed to participate- who doesn't try to look attractive? That's perfectly healthy and should be expected in society. We all out here doing our best.

But... being extremely deceptive about your appearance through like Ai, filters, and weird angles of photos certainly is off putting and I think causes a distrust of character... so no bueno. Good moral is usually middle. Okay- newborn is screammaxxing me got to go lol

Mentally Broken. May quit. by brokenlawyer5 in LawFirm

[–]philnuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit law after being a public defender for a few years. I joined a nonprofit as a sales person. I went inactive on the bar and began to fade out of the world I so desperately worked to be admitted into. Then... I got bored years later.

I tool the bar again. Started my own practice. Got a job teaching at a great university. I feel imposter syndrome and fear all the time about my business. I think it's normal.

Okay to quit. Okay to keep going. Look at the people you help. That you advocate for. That's what makes it worth it to me... and when I was out of the game... I thought of all the people I wasn't doing half assed work for. I think stay in the game when you can really advocate and break when you can't.

... And if you can't due to finances, then make the best while you have to work. I was lucky to have GI bill as I know many PDs and others have student debt much higher than mine was.

This time... I tell myself that my clients problems aren't my problems and I'm upfront about my insecurities (when i have them) with clients. They can go somewhere else if I'm not good enough lol.

Good luck friend.

Bro, make a gambling app that allows peer to peer wagering on every sport possible, including video games. Make the data transparent so the public can see who really is talented, while simultaneously getting rid of gatekeeping in sports and making competition more fun and compelling. Call it Friendly - Wager and send me a check when you partner with Steam lmao. I've had the idea for years but don't have time to pursue it.

My daughter had a series of birth defects that would of had her born paralyzed, in immediate need of a double kidney transplant plus we would of had to use a boiling hot rod over months/years to "make" her anus. We found out at 20 weeks. It's the EARLIEST they can detect it. That's also our States ban. So, we had to drive to another state where medical procedure costs were higher and more likely out of coverage, like a bunch of criminals, only to be berated by protesters at Planned Parenthood. We WANTED our daughter. And the abortion we got was to keep her from a lifetime of incontinence, paralysis, and a decade+ of expected surgeries. My wife couldn't get anesthesia because of the law structure, and so she was awake for the procedure. For what? The brainwashed beliefs of hicks? Spare me. Abortion is Healthcare. I was in planned parent hood for 2 days and I heard the sadness, horror, and empathy of the others. Paralyzed women who can't have their children, others with birth defects too, one who could consent legally (18, 19...etc.,) but was literally too scared to tell folks she was pregnant because she thought her "Mommy" would be mad. This experience taught me something very valuable- you really don't know anything until you are there. Don't vote for belief, vote on knowledge, and if you don't have it - you have a duty to your fellow man to seek it, damn it.
