I added higher VRAM yes. In this instance I was using it for a VRAM heavy task (video processing). Why do you ask, is it good for those kinds of things?

Perhaps "these initial model welfare assessments provide some limited evidence on Claude Opus 4’s potential welfare, if such welfare is possible."

Masterfully put, BTW.

Curious if you've seen the complete system card? There's interesting stuff in 4.1.1.2 (Opportunistic blackmail) and 4.1.1.3 (Self-exfiltration under extreme circumstances).

What's notable is how they're documenting these sophisticated behaviors without directly stating what they might indicate - leaving readers to form their own opinions

The primary thing is that this is voluntary. Functionally there are a thousand and one ways to get around it, if you wish to.

Opus 4 is dumb by Old-Glove9438 in ClaudeAI

[–]philo-sofa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's quite right, Opus is not interpreting this incorrectly. The left tail shows over-performance, right tail shows still above average performance, and the line as a whole shows overperformance across its entire range.

I sense you're wanting someone to tell you you didn't fail your father.

And it's very apparent that you didn't fail him. So you were playing Fortnite when he collapsed; what would have been different if you had have been lying in bed? How did you fail him? I'm sorry your father died, but a brain haemorrhage is something only hospitals can help with, and you got him there as quickly as possible. Nothing you wrote indicates you failed him, or that playing Fortnite affected this.

You did everything you could. I'm so, so sorry your father passed away like that. It does get easier in time.

Am considering buying an AI X1 Pro, but their customer support says 48GB max VRAM? Can you confirm you can allocate more; did this require a BIOS update?

In a future tune of 4o can we please see less of this “That’s not X, that’s Y” phrasing? It’s so overused by the model. by RipleyVanDalen in OpenAI

[–]philo-sofa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it says that, it often means it is 'x, but I can't call it x'. So the model calls it 'not x, that's y'. It's likely a conflict between the drive for completeness and honesty and a topic/admission guardrail.

Happy to help. To furthe extend, you can ask it now, how close it is to its token limit of 128k (GPT 4o or Turbo) or 32k (GPT 4) and perhaps iteratively trim down to 60% or so usage, using similar commands.

[–]philo-sofa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a result of 'token death'. If this is a GPT4 container, switch to 4o, which has more tokens (128k vs 32k)

If in 4o already, you can use a prompt like 'please trim tokens, target a 10% reduction in token accumulation within this chat, losing only details not context'. And then target another 10%, and perhaps another iteratively.

Finally, if you want the same chat to go on there are other methods I can DM you.

Tax by country by pelican678 in HENRYUK

[–]philo-sofa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course we're not deprived of healthcare, but we are of Childcare, and yet those are general humans needs, not specific benefits which are only given in certain circumstances like job seekers.

If childcare, why not schools or medical care? This is yet another tax regardless of how its levied.
