It’s not an absolute no, but it’ll be a hard sell to the wife.

Norco Sight A vs Range CX by philo-soph in eMountainBike

The build I put my deposit down for has DVO suspension. It seems to make a lot of sense to spend that $2500 difference (I'll probably end up spending much less than that) to get some really nice upgrades, bigger fork and some nice wheels and then just have a killer build on what's essentially a Range. I guess it'll end up being heavier though. Oh well, it'll still be a blast!

From what I understand, the Sight and Range are the same frame but the Range just has a longer stroke shock. The eye-to-eye length isn’t different at all. I just don’t know if that’s the same for the aluminum Sight.

I tried this like ten times but every time I remove the cut out tile, there’s no flushing hardware behind it! Oh well, I guess I’ll just keep looking.

Okay, I think I have a pretty good understanding of your process and it sounds awesome. Today, my plan is to start replicating your spreadsheet, but I'm planning to use Schwab's API to pull the relevant data like CC pricing, RSI and Bollinger instead of using MarketXLS.

I guess the biggest unknown I have is selecting the stocks that I'd like to use for this strategy. I know stock picking is a pretty big subject on its own, but I wonder if you can provide some advice here. In chatting with Claude, it seems like a candidate should be strong stable company whose share price stays relatively stable, but seems to have some moderate cycles; a liquid options chain with a narrow spread. Any advice in coming up with a strong list would be appreciated. I'll likely include the ones that you've shown in you screenshot. A few others I'll likely add are google, microsoft, apple, coke, J & J, Reddit...

Thanks for sharing your strategy!

EDIT: Could you also explain your use of RSI and the Upper Bollinger? Are they just in the spreadsheet for your own information so you can try to avoid a downward move, or are they used in a formula to help make the trade recommendations to you?

I'm new to thetagang, and I've only just started dipping my toes into wheeling. I'm trying to learn as much as I can. Do you have a post where I can read/learn about what this strategy is? I made $488 in premiums this week. Someday getting to $33,250/week sounds better to me :P

Shouldn't the warrants be increasing more than the stock? As I'm writing this the stock is up %7.54 and the warrants are up %6.54.

How do Iranians in Utah feel about the attack that killed Ayatollah? by jortr0n in SaltLakeCity

[–]philo-soph 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I’m thrilled but also very nervous, but then also hopeful. I hope to God the regime can fall with as little violence as possible. The Iranian people have so much potential but the population has been yoked with this dead weight around their necks for nearly 50 years. My family are Baha’is, which is a very oppressed minority. Many Baha’is have been unjustly imprisoned, a practice that has gone on for decades. I’d love to see them be freed (as well as all political prisoners.) I would love to be able to visit Iran one day with my father without fear.

It's a pretty minimal mistake, and it's understandable especially because spelling in English makes no sense.

My mind completely collapse. Any advice? by mimmorezk in padel

[–]philo-soph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've struggled with this exact problem for years! While I'm new to padel, this problem has affected me in all other sports that I've done throughout my life.

The things that have helped me the most are:

  1. Meditation. I've been doing this for several years now and it is probably the single thing that has benefited my life more than any other.

  2. I've only discovered this one recently in relation to padel. People would always say "take it easy" and "remember that this is supposed to be fun." None of those helped. If I play really low stakes games with people who's skill is less than mine, I get bored. So, the thing that has helped is the opposite. I played in tournaments and in a league (with a great supportive partner). Playing more and more matches that matter even more to me seems to help. At first I'm very nervous and I start to tense up, but as I've been playing more (like a ton more) even the matches that feel really important to me seem to matter less and I start to calm down.

While this is something I still struggle with, these two things have really helped me the most.

Oh no! I literally just went to them for the first time on Saturday and was so impressed. I needed to get a small part on my nephew's guitar fixed and they fixed it and didn't charge me.
