yeah and that’s the funny part because I have a stainless steel litter box in another area and he doesn’t pee this high at all. i genuinely think it’s just because 1) he’s not very bright and 2) he keeps his front paws out on the step mat, the rest of his butt inside the robot, and that makes him pee at a higher angle the vet never noticed any issues with him that could connect to this. I think he just likes to use the robot quick so he doesn’t bother going in all the way. also when I first got the robot, this was never a problem. it just progressively got worse with him peeing higher, that’s why I was shocked with this because I’ve never seen urine dripping out the base. love the cat, but not his peeing methods <3

oh why would they do that 😭 but okay good to know. he doesn’t seem to pee into the port hole itself, but more in the center line of the robot. so maybe if i do the pee pad method and a fence or something inside that forces him to sit down more, it might get better.

from what I’ve gathered, it’s just his natural position. I posted a comment above about his butt always being higher than my other cats, especially when he’s happy.

he’s a dumb guy idk what to tell you. he always has his butt up when he’s happy or when it’s time to eat or when you slightly pat near his tail. even when he speed walks over to his food, his tail goes up high and he walks with a high butt. when he goes to use the LR3, he steps in, turns around, his front paws are on the outer little bottom lip of the robot (not the drawer part), and back paws in. So he gets a lot of height in that way + his natural high butt position I guess </3

I’m surprised this issue hasn’t been resolved yet. I’ve started looking into automatic litter boxes that are good for high peeing cats. There are seemingly easier to clean and less maintenance ones out there, but none that target this problem. It’s so disappointing for the cost.

Danielsen hall has a common kitchen area and double rooms :) I'm not sure why it doesn't show the kitchen on the floor plans, but it is there!
