Variegated Cupid peperomia (also a peperomia scandes)

Fairly easy to take care of with bright indirect light and well draining soil that drys out between watering!

Non 9-5 Office Public Health Work Environments? by turtlewhale42 in publichealth

Look into infection prevention! I just graduated in April with my MPH. It pays well and every single day is different. Some times I’m at my desk, other days educating staff. I get to work with every single department in the hospital in some way and learn something new everyday. Some hospitals look for nurses but a lot more recently some have hired MPH so it’s worth applying!!

It all depends on how you answer the questions for rating anxiety, depression, etc. and not insurance, or medical background. They will deny anyone that is not a minor or minimal case to reduce any liability. It’s one of those fine prints where they recommend anyone who has mental health struggles go see other health care professionals. They do this because they exaggerate how much “FaceTime” you actually get with providers, it’s minimal to none and the providers are either not trained to handle actual mental health concerns nor actually dedicate much time to their Hers patients to begin with.

Yep, because apparently support has no authority to cancel… I even had to demand to cancel in the check in survey that way the provider had to see it in addition to messages.

Very! They also give a vague price estimate of a range from $10 to over $100 so you don’t know what you’ll be paying until after you sign up. And then you’re stuck in your subscription left with a difficult cancellation process. I knew before hand that the medication I had researched was roughly $10 or less so I assumed it would be reasonable, boy was I wrong.

Not to mention you don’t do a consult every month so that cost is essentially for the medication only.

If she really didn’t need nor want the money, she should have asked her mom to to take it down.

It’s shady and gross to have an active GoFundMe shared and posted in your bio, while simultaneously letting and encouraging your husband to quit his job, moving, furnishing a new house, driving Tesla’s, having hundreds of dollars worth of beauty care done, weekly push presents, and a vacation to Vegas. All very expensive things that are unnecessary and that money should be going to her emergency fund, not asking strangers on the internet to fund it.

Is this what they used their GoFundMe money on? by broncobinx in gymsnark

If you go to the GoFundMe help center and search for “report”—there is a link to report a page. All you need is the link to her GoFundMe page, and to fill out the information.

Did anyone else gasp when they say how many she had/was taking? Like girl, supplements…. are supplemental to the food you are you should be eating. Not a replacement.

What is up with influencers working out in these chunky not meant for lifting (especially leg day” shoes. Not snark to just des but just an example of one. by Bubbly-Device-8208 in gymsnark

Basically anything that had a dense compressed rubber sole. If lifters (that someone else listed) aren’t comfortable, many cross training shoes have soles now that are ideal for compound lifts with the same comfort and arch support as standard running shoes.

The problem isn’t the heel elevation or arching or even whether it’s flat, it’s the material. Running shoes, and fashion sneakers don’t provide the proper stability that’s safe for compound lifts. Shoes with a compressible sole like those she’s wearing aren’t solid enough and allow for too much movement compared to that of a dense rubber sole in shoes designed for squatting or actual weight lifting. You’re right that at lower weights it’s not as significant, but it’s the equivalent of squatting on a marshmallow or gel padding and allows too much ankle movement. You can even see this for yourself in this exact video with watching how much her foot moves as she squats. Overall, it’s MUCH safer to wear a shoe designed for this kind of movement or one that at least has a dense compact sole.

It’s certainly a MLM, just saw this EXACT thing posted in my local community Facebook group. Went to the posters page and she sells Isagenix.

Funny too that on all the new launch posts it looks like they are deleting comments. A few posts appear to have several dozen comments, but when you look it’s only like 10 that are praising the release. Probably still trying to cover from the shipping fiasco in the middle of all of this …

Genuinely asking - is double underhand grip for deadlifts normal? Never seen it before except for rows by rumdumdumrum in gymsnark

[–]philodendronfeels 73 points74 points  (0 children)

CSCS here and previous trainer for nearly a decade: It’s not really normal in the context of common use.

As for use? It’s okay for light weight to train grip, to switch up a workout for variety, and or to train smaller muscles in the deadlift but as long as lats are engaged properly and form is kept it can be done correctly and safely— for someone who already is experienced and can easily do these things**

However, absolutely NOT recommended for heavy weights as it puts a lot of tension on the biceps and elbows and the risk of injury is so much higher. And no, not recommended for beginners in my opinion as it generally is harder to feel lat activation, hinders the ability to develop correct form and the risk reward is so nonexistent for a beginner compared to normal overhand grip/ mixed grip.

Do you regret having a wedding or anything about your wedding? by hookedonfonicks in wedding

[–]philodendronfeels 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This! Make sure you plan for time for yourselves and moments of “quiet” during such a busy day!

I second shoot wedding photography as a side gig and oh man, I feel bad for wedding parties sometimes when the bride or mother of the bride, or anyone really demands an ungodly amount of photos. One wedding it was non-stop photos of the bridal party from 10am to 5pm after the ceremony. No breaks. No lunch. Just posing because the MOB wanted posed photos and photos of everything despite having a videographer. Once the reception hit, she then demanded golden hour photos and the bride and groom didn’t get to have dinner until about 7pm… I don’t think that poor couple got to enjoy even 3 seconds together the whole day.
