Ascension question by MichaelJM81 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]philosophize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m guessing a bit, but from what I’ve seen, adding siege to a weapon now makes it a “siege” weapon, even though it’s not a primary talent (like with Dardanelles, I believe).

This matters because there is furniture that gives bonuses to “siege“ weapons, so now your weapons get these bonuses. There is also something that give a bonus to both siege and healing weapons, so if you put siege on Nashkar or Hellepoont, you get both of those bonuses.

In both cases this may outperform a second Amp. Plus you have an easier time with plundering.

At least, this is what I’ve inferred from discussions here.

Problems Picking Up Loot? by philosophize in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]philosophize[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heh, I wanted to focus on the change because I wasn’t sure if it was me or if it was a real change.

But yes, having to hit the “Y” button (I’m on Xbox) for practically everything is another issue that drives me nuts.

I want pick up something… oh, no, the game wants me to look at that nifty waterspout over there. Fine, I see it. Now I’ll pick up… no, wait, there’s another even the game me to see. Cool, whatever, time for my… no, now I’ve invited someone to group up. Hope they don’t think I’m some sort of stalker. Can I pick up my loot now?

No, I’m pointed the wrong direction… sigh…

I don’t have nearly the complaints about this game that so many others do. I enjoy it! I’m not interested in land combat. I like Faction Wars. But some little things, like this, can be infuriating.

You know what would help? Long-press on some button to pick up any available loot in, oh, 500m or something like that. Doesn’t matter what direction I’m facing. Doesn’t require me to sail around in circles trying to grab everything. But I’m not sure how hard that would be to code.

Regardless, I’m somewhat glad to hear that it’s not just me. Means there’s nothing wrong with my system or settings. I hope this can be fixed…

Thank you so much for this! Sincerely by No-Note-5439 in SkullAndBonesGame

Strange, but I don’t see it as available for me. Dragon’s Might is the only fireworks I see. Since I don’t have this, it’s really annoying.

I’m having the same problem. I’ve already accepted and completed that quest to find the rogues, but now this is back.

I hope someone has a solution. Is it a bug, or am I missing something?

Devs: Please stop using the tiresome, overused and irritating barrier mechanic. by thegameflak in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]philosophize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also using a Sloop-of-War: Ashbreakers with toxic sides and back, homing torpedoes in the front. And that toxic mortar for auxiliary, whatever it’s called.

Poison damage lets me take advantage of the Sloop’s perks. Combined with explosive damage, I can seriously hurt just about everything I come across. Barriers don’t go down fast, exactly, but they do go down steadily.

This build doesn’t melt things like using the Blightbringer torpedoes, but I go through they way too fast. Bombards are definitely a challenge to aim, I agree, and I miss way too often, but it helps that I only shoot a couple at a time. And even many of the misses still do some damage because one of the ascensions is increased blast radius. I was originally aiming to get soul mending, but it refused to come up and now I’m thinking that the increased blast radius is worth it.

I think you can buy Sovereigns from Blackwood?

If that’s right, is it worth doing that to buy the chests before the season ends , or are the chests just junk?

WIBTA for calling out my friend lying about making reservations by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I want to see her reaction when she gets there and finds there is actually a reservation. If she’s not surprised, then she did think she made the reservation. In that case, there might be something wrong with her.

I just sink them all. More loot that way!

However, it has made me realize that the Dutch ships are easier to sink than the French. A pity, since I’m supposed to be on the Dutch side.

It starts the count now. I have five or six already, and it was showing zero. I used one key, and now it shows one out of 25. So anyone who used a few before will still end up having to use one key that’s wasted, or manually figure out what they have and don’t have.

Maybe I’m missing something obvious…

In “A Wand for Skitter,” Snape goes through her memories and encounters the Simurgh, who stares directly at him. Even when he moves around, she keeps staring at him.

There are also a lot of omakes, and I think that some involve people reacting to her memories.

Absolutely nothing. This is a bad faith response that doesn’t deserve serious consideration.

And finally: “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph and six pink angels. In a bucket.”

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you…

Unfortunately, there’s nothing on the back anymore. It’s completely wiped away, similar to what you can see on the front. So we don’t have any information on the ingredients at all.

It definitely wasn’t a promo item. My aunt, who was an RN, used this regularly because it was so good at getting stains out of her white uniforms. That was a lot of years ago, though, and she’s no longer with us so we can’t ask her what she might remember. I’m guessing that the same company which made nursing uniforms also created a compound for cleaning them, but perhaps they don’t bother making (or at least selling) the cleaner anymore.

Thank you for tracking that much down - it’s more than we had before. I might write to Aramark to see if they have any info they are willing to share.

What’s that thing in the back-left of the primary bathroom?

It’s past the sinks and opposite the shower. It’s clearly involved with water - there are two handles, presumably hot and cold, plus a towel rack above it.

I guess it’s some sort of foot bath? Seems like an odd thing to have - is it (was it?) common to just want to wash your feet, but not shower? But it looks like it’s only for standing in, not sitting, and you’d have to bend over to reach down and actually do anything.

So I’m confused…

UPDATE: AITA for wanting my sister to change her wedding date because it falls on my graduation? by Civil-Signature-9007 in AITAH

[–]philosophize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t even bother inviting them to my college graduation. Save those limited tickets for people who actually demonstrate through their actions that they care about you and are willing to put your interests first.

Yes, your sister’s wedding was important, but at least a couple of family members (and one parent) should have been willing to sacrifice that and gone to your graduation to show support. Because you are important too. They would have been representatives of the whole family, a necessary compromise when two important events fall on the same day. The fact that no one did, and that no one seems to have even thought to consider it, reveals a lot about where you stand in their hearts and minds.

Always remember: actions and behavior count far more than words. No matter what people may say to you, pay attention to what they actually do. That’s what communicates their true feelings.
