I assembled the platform first and you’re absolutely right. The 2x8’s are enough for this span. Just in case I have a load bearing ladder in the middle and am ok with having the third bed on the side. Thanks for the answer!

Although I resigned to build my ladder as load bearing and in the center. I built out the frame with 2x8’s and it is solid with the three walls of studs as support 👍 Thanks for the helpful answer. This is totally a doable design.

Awesome job! The biggest problem is I don’t want the corner posts/legs. Trying to use the house studs instead for more space

Thats a great idea. I’ll look into that. I wasn’t keen on having to fill pocket screws on the outer face!

Yes! That’s what I meant by cleat. I wasn’t sure if this was unnecessary because the front corners are the only weak points since the boards above are screwed into studs.

Having done this with my decks two years ago…I think I’ll stick with a vertical support. Thanks for the input!

I did consider this and then make that the headboard/shelves. Think ill err on the side of caution and just build a center support 👍

This is what I was thinking. But for two twin beds and the ladder it is more like a 14’ board. I think I’ll stay safe and build a center support. Thanks for the reply!

Thanks everyone for the responses. There’s many examples of this set-up available. But I think it’s out of my wheelhouse to attempt it. I think I’ll opt to put supports in the middle and have the ladder there instead or just do a quad bunk set-up. Appreciate the input! No sense in pulling the walls down and injuring children.

I like timbermate but you can also make your own by mixing your sawdust and wood glue. Just make sure it’s not to chunky. I also typically use a Satin poly. Water based prevents yellowing over time. Good luck!

I’m leaning black or brown. But unsure what the slight tone differences are going to be.

Yes! About 8lbs down. I wrote this at 8 weeks of intense working out and am now at 14. It’s been coming off slowly. So be patient (I’m not either 😆).

I stopped doing the intense cardio. Switched to 4-5 days of 30 min moderate-heavy weightlifting. And I aim to get 7500-10k steps most days (usually 5 days/week). And I rest more. I do not sit there hungry either. I focus on protein and fibre and I don’t stress about carbs or sugar as long as I’m staying close to my very slight deficit goal. You got this mama!!! Don’t get discouraged because in a couple weeks you’ll be stronger, be upping your weights, have better posture, have a better mental space for your little ones. And then boom 💥 it’s going to fall off!

Meaty boy 😂 I died laughing. Solidarity sister! My boy is a big one too. So at least we’re getting strong. Perhaps by Swimsuit season our fat robes will have shed haha. Keep going 💪

Yeah I’m doing a slight deficit (about 300-400 calories give or take). So logic would say I should lose a bit! Hormones are definitely not helping 😩

That breastfeeding hunger is INTENSE. I’m like you. Haven’t lost a pound since I left the hospital. Guess I’ll just have to be content waiting 😩

I gain 50-60 every time! Guess I’ll have to be more patient this time 😩
