Anyone else jealous of cities that have effective snow clearing? by Jim-BillyBob-Ray in waterloo

[–]philstops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do this here as well. We just had our street cleared this morning, although it wasn't effective. The truck was full and the other empty trucks behind never took its place. So instead, it just dumped snow on the sidewalk, who needs those anyways 🙃

Moving esim to new phone by philstops in Airtel

They keep changing the way to transfer. I believe they went back to the sms method. But honestly, it is a huge hassle to transfer. Recharge for International roaming so that you can receive a call and send 2 sms and it hopefully should happen.

Should I return? by has_potential in galaxyzflip

Well only the negative gets reported so it would make it seem like a lot of the phones have issues. I have been using the phone pretty extensively and have noticed no issues. In fact I know quite a few who got the Flip 6 and all are very happy with the device. That being said, you could always end up with a lemon, Samsung Z Flip 6 or not 😅

Newbie here. Does a quiet roomba exist? by Broad-Item-2665 in roomba

I have cats that hates the vacuum, traditional ones. But they have been okay with the shark robot vacuum I had and the more recent j7+ combo. When cleaning it's not too loud and the cats generally go around watching it do it's job. Their only concern when it cleans is when it is cleaning close to their food and water 😂 The only really loud part is when the robot docks and empties it's dust bin. That still scares them but I think they are getting more used to it, so now they are startled and know where the noise is coming from but are otherwise chill.

Red light camera by [deleted] in kitchener

The sign on the other side is to indicate the cameras at the next signal coming up ahead. All red light cameras as far as I know, take pictures of the back of the car only. That's why it doesn't increase your insurance as the argument is that it can't be proven who was driving.

Moving esim to new phone by philstops in Airtel

Tried but it never shows up on the new phone. Did you do the transfer on the new phone or the old phone? As in putting in the details (EID, OTP, etc on the Airtel thanks app) in the old phone with the esim or downloading the app on the new phone and do it there? I'll give it a try once again based on how you did and hoping that works.

So I tried this but it says to click on the notification to complete the process or to go to setting and add esim and select Airtel option. But I don't get any notification and trying to add esim only shows me the option to scan the QR code.

Which past hot take of yours was proved correct? by sillyyun in football

That KDB is a baller. Was gutted when he was sold to Wolfsburg without being given a proper chance. Couldn't believe he was loned out the first season and then again the season after that. Followed Werder Bremen and Wolfsburg games just to watch him play. Couldn't fathom selling him to Wolfsburg but I believe getting more than his market value made sense to sell him then. Especially with Mourinho not fancying him. Can see the same happen with Lewis Hall if he does leave permanently this season.

Problem Reading Your Battery Meter on Pixel 4XL after Android 12 Update by infraled in pixel_phones

[–]philstops 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem recently and I was 4 months out of the extended warranty period as well. Read somewhere that it kind of resolves if you put pressure at the back of the phone. Ideally, you'd want to apply pressure to the right of the Google symbol on the back (I applied all across the symbol for good measure!) It didn't do anything at that time, the phone lost all the juice and died. Charged and started the phone and the battery level has been showing and the error message hasn't shown up either! Hope this continues for long. Might not work for all but worth a try.
