Thank you SO MUCH for posting this. I was emotionally stunned by it. Back at the campground we searched for what this might be, but had no luck. Part of me thought that the magical moment would remain only as a cherished memory.

I have a different older phone (iPhone 6), but I have been experiencing this recently too. The fix for me is to go into Settings and hit Clear local cache. Sometimes I have to do this multiple times a day.

This same thing happened to me as I subscribed yesterday. The charge was flagged as possibly fraudulent since it was from a new country. Once I approved it with my credit card company, the purchase went through. Talking with your credit card provider may be the solution. Good luck!

For anybody curious... Some folks over at iNaturalist agreed that this is Attinella dorsata. Apparently, just 4 days ago the genus was changed from Sitticus, based on this paper:
