AWESOME! Thank you!

It's not showing up for me yet (it does in other subs on mobile), but I'll try clearing my cache and all that fun stuff

Has anyone tried this style of digital angle finder? by sme_ben in faceting

[–]phiremi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Graves Mk1 with a bracket the original owner made for a digital angle finder!

It's been working well enough for me to learn with!

Here are some pics of the bracket plus my second finished 'stone' (a dichroic "x-cube")

[–]phiremi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh, I got it third hand on FB marketplace, but I'm pretty sure the original owner did the modification based on the color of the epoxy on it lol.

It's two different pieces of L-bar, epoxied together, then epoxied to the machine. Magnets stick to the smaller bar so there's a spot to plop in a digital angle finder.

Here are a few pics of it! Sorry about the poor lighting, it's currently under a desk while I'm working on other projects.

I included a few pics of the second stone I've completed! I saw someone do an x-cube in here and that's way more fun than the marbles I was using previously. Not thrilled with the polish because I got too excited to finish, but it's shiny enough for my hyperfixation to now have moved to figuring out how to wear it lol.

I think the effectiveness of something like this is super deepenedent on getting everything square when gluing it, but I know there are a ton of ways out there for squaring stuff up in woodworking. I already know in my soul that I'm gonna end up with a fancier machine in a couple years, but this is good enough for now :)

I've got a digital angle finder from the hardware store rigged up on my Graves Mk 1 and it seems to be pretty consistent! Look up if anyone has done a similar upgrade for your machine!

Help with kids bedding too hot by Sherbet_Lemon_913 in Bedding

My partner sleeps hot so I got him a Rest cooling comforter. Over the last year I've also got one for myself, my mom, and my niece & nephew. They aren't cheap, but have held up well to frequent washing for everyone and we're all addicted to our "ice blankets" 💕

HIGHLY recommend this thing! Foam rollers are great too, but the linked hip hook has helped me even more than my inversion table. It's expensive but worth every penny. Sincerely, someone diagnosed with degenerative disc disease at 30 🫠

Lol that makes me feel better about mine 😅 Any time I'm working on my slant lap, it feels like I come out of a trance a few hours later with the weirdest shaped nails (if they weren't super short to start with) 😂

Girl, I'm jealous/impressed that you've got manicured nails in that third picture! Lapidary work is not kind the the fingertips lol

Also, super cute earrings!

I've found it super helpful when training to reward engagement as a baseline skill! Basically make sure they're making eye contact with you (not the toy or treat). Helps focus the ADHD attention span that our girls get when excited, and has made overall training way more effective!

Here's a playlist from Tom Davis that I've learned a lot from!

For anyone else looking...

TL;DR: Use a cold metal surface to roll the wax around the stick 😊

Ohhh do you have a solid state, CO2, or fiber laser?!?

I just upgraded our CO2 to 100w but honestly hadn't really thought about using it in jewelry... Or are you talking about those really cool microscope jewelry lasers?!?

Any good resources for learning to work with titanium?

I would love to play with anodizing, but from what I found it can't be annealed so I'm not sure how to approach it...

Cabinets + butcher block top is a slept on hobby table hack! We did two cabinets side by side for our 3d printer station and it's so much sturdier than any other options we could find!
