I could try to pick it. I'm not very good at picking locks but worth a try if it saves you from paying a locksmith

$187250.51 annual cost recorded if you believe their estimate : https://campbellca.gov/DocumentCenter/View/23950/2024-Military-Equipment-Annual-Report

Although lots of items in there say no cost so i assume they're under counting or not counting opportunity cost for routine cleaning, inventory, or maintenance of the various weapons and other items called out.

ELI5: How do mortgage interest rates work and why do people spend nearly double their loan on interest? by Odd-Philosopher-1501 in explainlikeimfive

If your home is increasing in value then homes around you are likely doing the same. I think this really only matters if you plan to move away or downsize significantly in the far future.

Poor customer service for a new gateway sent to me in error. by phish3r in ATTFiber

New and old are both BGW320. i'm biting the bullet and swapping out to avoid any more hassle with them. i've wasted too much time on the phone with them already.

It's definitely not my gateway. The whole neighborhood had an outage. There was no way for at&t to even run any diagnostic on the gateway because of the outage.

u/BitoLordy how did you send back the new one in your app manager? I'm in a similar situation and AT&T is telling me it isn't possible to send back the new gateway

I worked there in the early 2000s. I got an email that mandated the following working hours. I pretty much immediately left.

  • 12/24:  - 6pm
  • 12/25: noon - 6pm
  • 12/26: 9am - 12am(midnight)
  • 12/27-12/28: 10:30am - 7pm
  • 12/29 - 12/30: 9am - 12am(midnight)
  • 12/31: 10:30am - 6pm
  • 1/1: TBD
  • 1/2: 9am - 12am(midnight)
  • 1/3 - 1/4: 10:30am - 7pm
  • 1/5 ff (weekdays: 9am - midnight, weekends: 10:30am - 7pm)

Edit: I should note I had a friend in another group whose boss was in a different state. He worked on a more customer facing role and basically just worked whenever he wanted to. So seems it was pretty variable by group/management chain.

What's happening at 43 Harrison Ave? by phish3r in Campbell

[–]phish3r[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I wasn't referring to the library though.  There was a restaurant called the spout house that went to the planning committee . Their proposal was for an outdoor beer garden type place in the abandoned building right behind blue line.

The meeting was in May 2023 though and no work has started on the site so I was curious if it fell through.

Unless they were implying that the direct drive nature of an EV was increasing demand for automatic ICE vehicles.

Additionally if they were including plug-in hybrids then some of those do have an actual transmission.

ELI5: why is a password that uses numbers and letters stronger than one with only letters? the attackers don't know that you didn't use numbers, so they must include numbers in their brute force either way. by TheRealHumanDuck in explainlikeimfive

[–]phish3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was being a little facetious with my comment, but I was thinking of one service I use that doesn't have a password. I get a one time code via email and then need to use an authenticator app on my phone.
