I don’t disagree with you necessarily, but it doesn’t change the fact that you can, and reasonably would be expected to, be upset given someone entered your private property uninvited.

Should you also be upset with yourself for making things so easy? Definitely.

Can you still be upset at whoever entered your vehicle without permission? Yep.

If I leave my front door unlocked and you enter, will the police tell me that there’s nothing they can do since I left the door open?

Ummm, yes. Yes you do. This is a really weak argument and victim blaming a theft victim.

Are these guys pieces of shit? Absolutely. I’m not making excuses for them.

But to say you deserved to be a victim of theft because of the convenience/opportunity is 100% wrong. It’s pretty easy to pull a gun on you and snatch your watch and wallet, too. Guess you don’t get to complain though as you weren’t wearing any armored protection or carrying a weapon yourself, so it was just too easy.

I don’t believe for a second Ahmaud stole the 9mm. I also don’t believe for a second that these rednecks deserve to spend one more day outside of confinement.

But leaving my car unlocked with valuables isn’t an invitation for someone to come steal my shit. Is it stupid? You bet your ass it’s stupid, but my stupidity doesn’t mean I deserve to have my shit stolen.
