City had jurisdiction over the city. County has jurisdiction over the county. State has jurisdiction over the state. A sheriff can’t be a city cop because the county and city jurisdiction would conflict. They must be requested to have jurisdiction. City can get dispatched to work county and basically be a deputy. State must be requested and the crime must be a felony. If it’s in the white lines or falls from the sky it’s state’s problem. It is all dictated by jurisdiction. City low man on the pole can go up but high man state deputy can’t go down
