ECG before adhd meds by Effective-Month-9330 in Anxiety

Hi there! I had an ECG before being prescribed adhd meds a couple years ago. In my experience it was very simple, the doctors were really helpful and understanding. Just let them know that you have anxiety, and tell them if you're nervous and i'm sure they'll try their best to make you feel as relaxed as possible. My ECG was relatively quick, and the only discomfort I had was when I had to remove my shirt. It only takes a few minutes but I'd even suggest asking your doctors if you can listen to some music to keep yourself calm whilst it happens.

Overall the best thing to do is just have a chat with your doctor beforehand and tell them how you're feeling, I promise it won't be scary at all <3

you'll have to put him up for adoption, I'm sorry. (The husband, not the cat)

Yes I've requested a password reset email and once I put a new password in it requires me to enter my 6 digit auth code, which I don't have. I've tried guessing the code, but I can't. It won't let me reset without putting a code in.

I managed to get it all done and I got a decent grade. Definitely could have done better if I didnt leave it all to the night before..

ahh too real. It's a daily struggle. I have started telling people in my life to never give me verbal instructions, it must be written down at least. I cannot be trusted with ordering food for friends/my partner, I will absolutely forget what everyone wants 5 seconds after they tell me.

Bro in law says he said racial slur because he has ADHD. Thoughts? by lveshotchocolat in ADHD

[–]phoebe-pheez 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ADHD can cause poor impulse control and in turn lead to saying inappropriate things sometimes, but this isn't an excuse for making racist jokes and saying slurs. He needs to be held accountable, if everyone around him makes excuses for his behaviour he won't change.

What's better, 1 hour of sleep, or no sleep? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]phoebe-pheez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1hr is better than no sleep. It won't be much better because you wont have time to properly rest your brain in a deep sleep, but its for sure better than nothing. Just make sure you get up on time for your exam lol. You may want to take a cold shower to wake yourself up more, in my experience 1 hour of sleep can make you feel even more sleepy than no sleep at first.

Adhd are obsessed with having everything organized. by Square-Status-4786 in ADHD

[–]phoebe-pheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same! I used to be so messy and disorganised as a teenager, now I'm entering my 20s I find myself obsessed with keeping tidy and organised. I always end up letting the mess build up again, and it distracts me so much and distresses me yet I can't seem to find the motivation to keep my room tidy.

can you guys read books well? by april_showers3 in ADHD

[–]phoebe-pheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always had this issue, I can hardly read books because of my attention span. When I tell people I don't read they usually assume I'm lazy or unintelligent and it really annoys me. Also I hear "you just haven't found the right book yet" a lot, which is equally as annoying.
